This book was released on 2018 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book La douleur written by Anne Coulon and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: Here is the first book in 30 years to cover all diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of intramedullary spinal cord tumors (IMTs), a relatively rare but often misdiagnosed type of tumor. You will also appreciate the vital role of MRI in accurately diagnosing these tumors and review the latest technical refinements in surgical methods. Divided into three parts, the book begins with the diagnostic and therapeutic problems common to all intramedullary spinal cord tumors, then covers the histology of individual tumors, and finally examines the controversial value of radiotherapy in the treatment of both benign and malignant tumors in children and adults. Throughout, full-color illustrations depict anatomy from a surgical point of view.
Book Synopsis The Privacy of the Self by : Masud Khan
Download or read book The Privacy of the Self written by Masud Khan and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-03-26 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Privacy of the Self was the first collection of papers showing the development of the author's thinking over twenty five years of clinical work. He was nurtured in the tradition of Anna Freud, John Rickman and D.W. Winnicott, but his contribution to psychoanalytic literature was a distinctive and personal one. What emerges from this book is the natural and private crystallization of his experiences with his patients and teachers. As he says in his preface: "Psychoanalysis is an extremely private discipline of sensibility and skill. The practice of psychoanalysis multiplies this privacy into a specialized relationship between two persons, who through the very nature of their exclusivity with each other change each other. The first thing I wish to say about my work reported in these papers is that my patients have helped me become and personalize my potential of thought, affectivity and effort into a way of life that I find deeply satisfying.

Book Synopsis Peer Research in Health and Social Development by : Stephen Bell
Download or read book Peer Research in Health and Social Development written by Stephen Bell and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-04-26 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Peer research is increasingly used in international academic, policy and practice environments. It engages members of a group or social network as trusted members of a research team working in communities and settings they are familiar with. Critics, however, point to methodological concerns with peer research. These include the extent to which peer researchers genuinely represent the populations under study; data confidentiality; the emotional burden of enquiring into sensitive issues peers may experience in their own lives; and the reliability and credibility of data collected by people who do not have academic training. The book seeks to counter the marginalisation of research experience and skills derived from close relationships with people and communities, while reflecting critically on the strengths and limitations of peer research. Chapters by a wide range of international contributors illustrate the potential of peer research to facilitate an in-depth understanding of health and social development issues and enhance policy and practice. This interdisciplinary book provides students and professionals working in health, social science and development studies with a thorough grounding in this new style of research. It will appeal to those interested in research and evaluation; sexual health and public health; mental health, disability and social care; gender and sexuality; conservation and environmental management; migration and citizenship studies; humanitarian issues; and international development.
Book Synopsis Conscripts and Deserters by : Alan I. Forrest
Download or read book Conscripts and Deserters written by Alan I. Forrest and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1989 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Between the outbreak of war with Austria in 1792 and Napoleon's final debacle in 1814, France remained almost continously at war, recruiting in the process some two to three million frenchmen--a level of recruitment unknown to previous generations and widely resented as an attack on the liberties of rural communities. Forrest challenges the notion of a nation heroically rushing to arms by examining the massive rates of desertion and avoidance of service as well as their consequences on French society--on military campaigns and the morale of armies, on political opinion at home, on the social fabric of local villages, and on the Napoleonic dream of bringing about a coherent and centralized state.
