Et les Africains devenus chrétiens confessent ainsi, à partir des questions de la culture, de la pauvreté, de la race et de la responsabilité, que le salut apporté par Jésus-Christ à toute l’humanité les concerne aussi bien dans leur devenir historique que dans leur destinée ultime. Si dans ces discours christologiques, situés à l’intérieur des quatre courants de la théologie africaine contemporaine (inculturation, libération, théologie noire sud africaine et reconstruction) et dans le « Rite Zaïrois » de la messe, une certaine originalité peut se remarquer au niveau des expressions du mystère de Jésus-Christ, ces pasteurs et théologiens africains affirment rester dans le cadre du message biblique et dans la ligne de la Tradition commune de toutes les Eglises chrétiennes. Pour eux aussi, Jésus, le Fils éternel du Père, conçu de l’Esprit-Saint et né de la Vierge Marie, est véritablement Dieu et véritablement homme.
