Book Synopsis The Dutch and German Communist Left (1900–68) by : Philippe Bourrinet
Download or read book The Dutch and German Communist Left (1900–68) written by Philippe Bourrinet and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2016-11-01 with total page 701 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Dutch-German Communist Left, represented by the German KAPD-AAUD, the Dutch KAPN and the Bulgarian Communist Workers Party, separated from the Comintern (1921) on questions like electoralism, trade-unionism, united fronts, the one-party state and anti-proletarian violence. It attracted the ire of Lenin, who wrote his Left Wing Communism, An Infantile Disorder against the Linkskommunismus, while Herman Gorter wrote a famous response in his pamphlet Reply to Lenin. The present volume provides the most substantial history to date of this tendency in the twentieth-century Communist movement. It covers how the Communist left, with the KAPD-AAU, denounced 'party communism' and 'state capitalism' in Russia; how the German left survived after 1933 in the shape of the Dutch GIK and Paul Mattick’s councils movement in the USA; and also how the Dutch Communistenbond Spartacus continued to fight after 1942 for the world power of the workers councils, as theorised by Pannekoek in his book Workers’ Councils (1946).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: U.S. Trotskyism 1928-1965. Part III: Resurgence: Uneven and Combined Development is the third of a documentary trilogy on a revolutionary socialist split-off from the U.S. Communist Party, reflecting Leon Trotsky’s confrontation with Stalinism in the global Communist movement. Spanning 1954 to 1965, this volume surveys the Cold War era, the civil rights and black liberation movements, the 'third wave' of feminism, and other social and cultural developments of the 1950s and 1960s. Documenting responses to a variety of anti-colonial and revolutionary insurgencies, the volume also surveys the crisis and decline of Stalinism. Attention is given to internal debates and splits, but also to the partial reunification of the international Trotskyist movement (the Fourth International), as well as substantial contributions to the study of history and the development of Marxist theory. Scholars and activists will find much of interest in these primary sources.

Book Synopsis Rosa Luxemburg: A Permanent Challenge for Political Economy by : Judith Dellheim
Download or read book Rosa Luxemburg: A Permanent Challenge for Political Economy written by Judith Dellheim and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-08-30 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is based upon a call for papers and a conference to mark the 100th anniversary of Rosa Luxemburg's principal work, The Accumulation of Capital: A Contribution to an Economic Explanation of Imperialism, published in 1913. Eleven contributors from five different countries come together to discuss different issues and dimensions connected with Luxemburg's work and focus on its continuing relevancy. This collection investigates topics such as, the influences of Karl Marx and Maxim Kovalevsky, the imperialism debate in German social democracy, and the critical reception of Luxemburg's work from Marxist and feminist viewpoints. By positioning Luxemburg's work in a historical context, this book offers an accessible and timely insight into the significance of The Accumulation of Capital and, more importantly, demonstrates why Luxemburg's legacy should live on.

Download or read book The Khruschevites written by Enver Hoxha and published by . This book was released on 2021-07-27 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the time the Khrushchevites took power to the moment when we came out in open confrontation with them, the relations of the Party of Labour of Albania with the Communist Party of the Soviet Union passed through a complicated process, with zigzags, with periods of exacerbation and periods of temporary normalization. This was the process of each getting to know the other through encounters in the course of the struggle and the continual clash of views. After the Khrushchevite revisionist putschists came to power, our Party, basing itself on the events that were taking place there, on certain stands and actions, which were ill-defined at first, but which, step by step, were becoming more concrete, began to sense the great danger of this clique of renegades, which hid behind a deafening pseudo-Marxist demagogy, and to understand that this clique was becoming a great threat both to the cause of the revolution and socialism as a whole, and to our country.
