It is under a conviction of this truth that the following pages have been written; and should they be the means of exciting an interest respecting Ireland, amongst the gentry of England and Scotland, and of inducing them more frequently to visit their less wealthy but warm-hearted neighbours, my labours will be amply rewarded, their amusement greatly promoted, and Ireland essentially benefitted.
