La mayoría de estos factores surgen en el encuentro entre terapeuta y cliente, y de la consciencia por parte del terapeuta sobre su propio posicionamiento en el proceso. Con un enfoque sistémico construccionista, este libro aporta grosor teórico a los elementos tradicionales y muestra una serie de competencias que le ayudarán como clínico en la gestión del proceso terapéutico. El texto se ubica entre tres tradiciones (el pensamiento sistémico de Gregory Bateson, el socioconstruccionismo y el dialogismo) y contiene una idea de la terapia que se ubica más allá de la idea del cambio, en la de las prácticas transformativas que: • Buscan reconocer la agencia personal de los consultantes y los recursos relacionales disponibles. • Consideran la transformación como una parte de los tejidos sociales y culturales. • Escuchan las diferentes voces y crean un entendimiento coordinado de los diferentes abordajes. • Requieren una transformación de sí mismo para posibilitar la cocreación y la coevolución. • Son guiadas por una constante preocupación ética, el pensamiento crítico, la transparencia de los prejuicios, la consciencia sobre las relaciones de poder y privilegio, y una sensibilidad profunda. Gracias a los ejemplos, los casos clínicos y las sugerencias de este libro, tanto si es un terapeuta experimentado como un profesional recientemente formado, un docente, formador o supervisor en psicoterapia podrá integrar en su práctica clínica aquellas competencias que le llevarán a mejorar los resultados de los procesos psicoterapéuticos de los que participan.
