Il existe de nombreux liens et references a d'autres passages des Ecritures qui permettent de mieux saisir le sens des descriptions souvent mysterieuses de l'apotre Jean. Des commentateurs ont donne diverses interpretations concernant les personnages ou les visions de l'apocalypse, mais dans une telle etude il faut rester sobre et ne pas aller au dela de la verite du texte prophetique qui doit etre avant tout considere comme "le message" du Seigneur a son Eglise sur la terre.
