Issues discussed in the consultations include the lack of applicability of some Employment Standards Act requirements to the high technology sector, and the need for flexibility. Recommendations are made regarding exemption of high-tech professionals from certain provisions of the Act, flexibility of work schedules, and company exclusions from certain provisions of the Act. Appendices include summaries of employment standards provisions from British Columbia and other jurisdictions.
