Book Synopsis Christ's Object Lessons—Illustrated by : Ellen G. White
Download or read book Christ's Object Lessons—Illustrated written by Ellen G. White and published by Digital Inspiration. This book was released on 1941 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heritage Edition—Over 100 illustrations of a century ago. Unabridged, original text consisting of inspiring and profound lessons from the stories and parables which Jesus told. Christ the Great Teacher gave much of His instruction as He walked with His disciples through the hills and valleys of Palestine or rested by the lake or river. In His parable teaching He linked divine truth with common things and incidents, as may be found in the experiences of the shepherd, the builder, the tiller of the soil, the traveler, and the homemaker. Familiar objects were associated with thoughts true and beautiful—thoughts of God’s loving interest in us, of the grateful homage that is His due, and of the care we should have one for another. Thus lessons of divine wisdom and practical truth were made forcible and impressive. The Scripture says, “All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; . . . that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Matt. 13:34, 35. Natural things were the medium for the spiritual; the things of nature and the life-experience of His hearers were connected with the truths of the written word. Leading thus from the natural to the spiritual kingdom, Christ’s parables are links in the chain of truth that unites man with God, and earth with heaven. In this volume the parables are grouped according to their subjects, and their lessons are developed and illustrated. The book is full of gems of truth, and to many readers it will give a richer meaning to the common surroundings of everyday life.

Book Synopsis Select Writings Volume 1 by : Samuel Trott
Download or read book Select Writings Volume 1 written by Samuel Trott and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-10-18 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samuel Trott was one of the leading Baptist frontier ministers; a firm Predestinarian, an Exalter of Christ Alone, one who contended in earnest for that "faith once delivered unto the saints." Along with Gilbert Beebe, he was one the most influential of that group of Particular Baptists which came to be known as "Old School." With this volume of Trott's Writings, as selected from the Signs of the Times, we hope, under the blessing of the LORD, to attempt to establish afresh, a renewed evaluation and appreciation, of the writings of one who faithfully served his generation, in setting forth the Glories of Christ's Redemption-Grace; not only to those who were privileged to sit under his Ministry, but to many subsequent generations of Christ minded, I Cor.2:16, believers; even to this dark day, wherein the Essential Truths of the Gospel are, for the most part thrown aside, or trampled underfoot by men whose minds have been corrupted from the simplicity or singleness that is in Christ.

Many of us are so familiar with the Easter story that it becomes easy to miss subtle details and difficult to really enjoy its meaning. This book will help you to pause and marvel at Jesus, whose now-glorified wounds are a sign of his unfailing love and the decisive victory that he has won: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) This book can be used as a devotional. The chapters on Holy Week make it especially helpful during the Lent season and at Easter.

Book Synopsis An Autobiography of a Person in the Spirit by : Witness Lee
Download or read book An Autobiography of a Person in the Spirit written by Witness Lee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant, ministers not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (2 Corinthians 3:5-6) Second Corinthians may be considered as an autobiography of the Apostle Paul. In it we see a portrait of a person who lived in the Spirit. For us to enjoy and experience Christ in a rich way we must be persons in the Spirit as symbolized by ten aspects in 2 Corinthians—captives, letters, mirrors, vessels, ambassadors, co-workers, a temple, a virgin, lovers of the church, and tasters of Christ. It is by all of these aspects that we can be thoroughly wrought by God and with God and be constituted the ministers of the new covenant for the building up of the church.
