Book Synopsis Faraoni Ebrei Nel nome della Divina Madre by : Celestino Vescera
Download or read book Faraoni Ebrei Nel nome della Divina Madre written by Celestino Vescera and published by Celestino Vescera. This book was released on with total page 821 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Kainua (Marzabotto) by : Elisabetta Govi
Download or read book Kainua (Marzabotto) written by Elisabetta Govi and published by University of Texas Press. This book was released on 2023-05-16 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume brings together leading scholars of Etruria to provide up-to-date findings from the key archaeological site of Kainua. Located in what is now the Italian town of Marzabotto, Kainua is the only Etruscan site whose complete urban layout has been preserved, making it possible to trace houses, roads, drainage systems, cemeteries, craft workshops, and an acropolis. Under excavation since the 1850s, Kainua offers a trove of insights into Etruscan culture and society. The volume’s editor, Elisabetta Govi, and her fellow experts examine the material evidence underlying our understanding of the history, economy, religion, and social structures of Kainua, including trade routes that linked the city with the wider Mediterranean. Particularly exciting are recent discoveries of sanctuaries dedicated to Tinia and Uni, analogous to the Greek Zeus and Hera, which provide new information about Etruscan cults. Kainua (Marzabotto) also draws on the latest research to reconstruct the city’s foundation rites, a sacred charter, and urban plan. Finally, the authors explore the site’s archaeological history, discussing new knowledge made possible since the introduction of modern techniques of remote sensing and 3D modeling.
Book Synopsis Production, Trade, and Connectivity in Pre-Roman Italy by : Jeremy Armstrong
Download or read book Production, Trade, and Connectivity in Pre-Roman Italy written by Jeremy Armstrong and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2022-04-25 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the complex relationship between production, trade, and connectivity in pre-Roman Italy, confronting established ideas about the connections between people, objects, and ideas, and highlighting how social change and community formation are rooted in individual interactions. The volume engages with, and builds upon, recent paradigm shifts in the archaeology and history of the ancient Mediterranean which have centred the social and economic processes that produce communities. It utilises a series of case studies, encompassing the production, trade, and movement of objects and people, to explore new models for how production is organised and the recursive relationship which exists between the cultural and economic spheres of human society. The contributions address issues of agency and production at multiple scales of analysis, from larger theoretical discussions of trade and identity across different regions to context-specific explorations of production techniques and the distribution of material culture across the Italian peninsula. Production, Trade, and Connectivity in Pre-Roman Italy is intended for students and scholars interested in the archaeology and history of pre-Roman and early Republican Italy, but especially production, trade, community formation, and identity. Those interested in issues of cultural interaction and material change in the ancient Mediterranean world will find useful comparative examples and methodological approaches throughout.

This book was released on 2014-03-14 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Comparing Greek Colonies by : Camilla Colombi
Download or read book Comparing Greek Colonies written by Camilla Colombi and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2022-08-22 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The need for a "new" book on Greek colonization arose to analyse this phenomenon as a long-term process in a wide geographic area. The events related to individual cities and regions, although geographically very distant from each other, are linked through an articulated network of material and immaterial relations and have to be considered as part of a broader mobility process in a Mediterranean perspective. The intention of "Comparing Greek Colonies" is to bring geographically and culturally distant regions such as Southern Italy/Sicily and the Black Sea, closer together, not merely to find "similarities and differences", but to broaden the scholars’ perspective and overcome existing, generalizing, and biased models, that are often rooted in local scientific traditions. The proceedings of the international conference "Comparing Greek Colonies. Mobility and Settlement Consolidation from Southern Italy to the Black Sea (8th – 6th century BC)", 7.–9.11.2018 in Rome, are structured around three core topics (economic system; relationships with the indigenous populations; social and territorial systems) that constitute the cornerstones of the political formation of the polis in the Archaic period and for its development during the Classical and Hellenistic Ages.

Download or read book Untar written by Fabrizio Franzini and published by Booksprint. This book was released on 2012-05-28 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
