If Jesus or the Apostles had explicitly established a Canon and/or a Christian Creed, we would probably have immediately accepted those: both Creed and Canon. However, we have no testimony that even at the death of the last Apostle, in the 90's of the first century, neither the list of Christian sacred books nor a list of the "essential" truths that every Christian should believe had been explicitly established. About 300 years after the Resurrection of the Lord, the Creed and the New Testament canon were "officially" established and, surprisingly, today most Christian denominations accept the Nicene Creed and all denominations accept the 27 books of the New Testament.In this book, we review the "initial process" of selecting the basic beliefs contained in the Nicene Creed and the process of selecting the books of the New Testament. We reviewed a summary of the main "human" contributions of the first 200 years to this process, since every Christian accept that the Holy Ghost was who inspired the Creed and the Canon of Holy Books.In the 21st century, we are in no position to decide or speculate what was preached by the Apostles without using the Christian writings selected in the second century. These disciples were the ones used by the Holy Spirit, to select the "initial" Christian doctrines and "initial" writings. An important conclusion for the 21st century Christians is that any 21st century Christian wanting to take out one of the 27 books of the New Testament or wanting to add a book to the Canon, will have to show that that book does not contain doctrines not preached by the apostles. Even in the case one could show that, one will not have the Authority to add the book to the Canon. Similarly, whenever we interpret the Bible against a belief from the direct witnesses of Apostolic Preaching of the second century, we are the ones wrong, not them. Thus, we need to re-consider our interpretation. By rejecting these false doctrines not taught by the apostles and the false books, indirectly those first Christians were creating the "initial core of" Christian doctrines and writings. Both doctrines and writings (the text and its interpretation) we have conserved and use in the 21st Christians are truthfully reflecting the apostolic preaching. They depend on this preaching (the Christian beliefs revealed by Jesus) to be accepted as Scripture and true Christian beliefs. It is an inconsistent to accept the books selected in the second century and reject the doctrines selected by those same Christians. If both, Scriptures and doctrines come from the apostles, there must be a unity between the two that makes misinterpreting or denying one, automatically misinterpreting or denying the other. Those doctrines were used to select those Books; therefore, we can not deduct from our interpretation of these books doctrines against the second century doctrines used to select those Books. Our "deducted" interpretation would go against the Apostolic Preaching.We must recognize and accept that those disciples had a much deeper knowledge of all the Apostolic Preaching than we, in the 21st century, do. Therefore, they were more qualified to decide which doctrines were not preached by the apostles and which books do not reflect this Apostolic Teachings.
