Book excerpt: En los últimos años, y debido, en gran medida, a la pandemia causada por la COVID 19, el derecho a la salud y la búsqueda de las herramientas más adecuadas para su garantía se han convertido en un asunto prioritario, centrando la atención de muy distintos actores. El marco normativo internacional ya ofrecía una estructura sólida de protección, y el Enfoque basado en Derechos (EBDH) se había revelado como una herramienta eficaz para su traslado al trabajo práctico. El EBDH, una metodología de trabajo, que nació y creció en el contexto de las Naciones Unidas, parte de la hipótesis de que si los derechos no están siendo garantizados es porque los actores implicados no disponen de las capacidades necesarias para cumplir adecuadamente con su rol. Determinar la brecha existente entre el papel que desempeñan y el que deberían desempeñar, facilita el diseño de una hoja de ruta que permite guiar su trabajo a fin de contribuir eficazmente a la garantía del derecho a la salud. Por ello, el análisis respecto a cómo se aplica el EBHD en el trabajo práctico adquiere especial relevancia en tanto posibilita extraer las buenas prácticas y las lecciones aprendidas derivadas de él y, por tanto, optimizar su uso. Esta obra ofrece el análisis de una sistematización de distintas experiencias de trabajo con EBDH en el trabajo por la garantía del derecho a la salud. Se pretende, con ello, que el conocimiento generado se convierta en una guía que haga más accesible su uso a todas aquellas organizaciones e instituciones comprometidas con su defensa. Cristina Ramírez Calderón. Licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y Doctora en Derecho por la Universidad de Alcalá es especialista en derechos humanos. Ha desarrollado su carrera profesional vinculada a la actividad docente e investigadora en distintas universidades. Además, ha diseñado e implementado distintos proyectos de fortalecimiento institucional, sostenibilidad, acción social y cooperación para el desarrollo para diversas instituciones, consultoras y organizaciones de la sociedad civil. En la actualidad, además de su trabajo como consultora, dirige la Clínica Jurídica de la UNIR, un proyecto de innovación docente que tiene entre otros objetivos el fortalecimiento de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil.
