Ce travail a pour but d’analyser la relation patient-praticien d’hier à aujourd’hui par le biais de deux enquêtes, une réalisée en 1994 par l’ADF selon un questionnaire de la SOFRES et une réalisée en 2010 complétée par un questionnaire sur des nouvelles techniques en évolution depuis les années 2000 (éclaircissement et implantologie). Il en ressort que l’image du chirurgien-dentiste comme un arracheur de dent, un profiteur disparait peu à peu des esprits, au profit d’une image plus florissante d’un professionnel de santé à part entière

Les dentistes sont victimes de leur image passée, aussi il est de notre ressort de mieux faire connaître et comprendre la vocation de notre profession. Alors, les auteurs devront mieux reproduire les dentistes de notre société pour respecter l'image que s'en font leurs spectateurs qui sont également nos patients.
