Download or read book Book of Illumination written by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad Ibn ʻAṭāʼ Allāh and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presenting a mystical and theological analysis of our human urge to create idols for ourselves and out of ourselves, this medieval author carefully recounts the enlightening counsels of his own masters. He is most attentive to the subtle psychological working of our human ego, marshaling resources for his Islamic tradition that can confront and overcome it. The result of desisting from claiming as our right and ability what is clearly beyond our control is illumination of the heart, clarity of the mind, and tranquility of the soul. This new translation masterfully illustrates the goal of Ibn Ata' Allah's discussion of achieving inner illumination of the heart, which is close to the sense of "enlightenment" that has become common in English language discussions of spirituality and gnosis.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first English translation of Miftah al-falah, a thirteenth century Sufi text, written by Ibn Ata Allah, one of the great masters of the Shadhili Sufi order. It is considered to be one of his most important works because it sets out the principles of actual Sufi mystical practices, shedding light on the sacred invocations, and associated practices, such as the spiritual retreat. Written in a clear, lucid style, it offers a glimpse into the Sufi world of the 7th Islamic century and allows us to see almost at first hand how the novice was guided by the Sufi Shaykh and, above all, the purpose and preparation involved in engaging in the invocation, dhikhru'llah. Ibn Ata' Allah sets out to define it, to explain its nature and power, to show its results and to prove that it is part of the Prophet's Sunna, or practice. The author goes to great lengths to point out many Qur'anic verses where dhikru'llah is mentioned and cites many noted authorities.

Book Synopsis The Meaning of the Kalimah Al-Tawheed by : Shaykh Al-Fawzaan
Download or read book The Meaning of the Kalimah Al-Tawheed written by Shaykh Al-Fawzaan and published by . This book was released on 2018-08-29 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tawheed is to single out Allaah in all types of worship whether it is connected to the heart, or in speech or in actions. All worship is to be directed to the Lord of the Worlds, the only One who has the right to be worshipped in truth. Allaah is the only One deserving of worship since he is the Only Creator, Only Sustainer, the Owner of the Day of Judgement, Owner of everything in existence and the one who gives life and death. To direct worship to other than Allaah is the ultimate crime, the greatest oppression one can commit, it is the crime of Shirk. A person who commits Shirk is expelled from the fold of Islaam and all his deeds are nullified by Allaah. So therefore every Muslim should have knowledge of what is Tawheed since this is the greatest right of Allaah upon His creation, it is the ultimate justice to give the right of worship to the One who deserves it. And also to know what negates this Tawheed which is Shirk and how to avoid this ultimate crime. To have knowledge of these matters is obligatory upon every Muslim, male and female. Shaykh Al-Fawzan has explained this in detail and it is recommended that a person continuously learns Tawheed, implements it in his life , for indeed every goodness , happiness is connected to the implementation of Tawheed in belief and action.
