Book excerpt: Silicon Valley icon and bestselling author Guy Kawasaki shares the unlikely stories of his life and the lessons we can draw from them. Guy Kawasaki has been a fixture in the tech world since he was part of Apple's original Macintosh team in the 1980s. He's widely respected as a source of wisdom about entrepreneurship, venture capital, marketing, and business evangelism, which he's shared in bestselling books such as The Art of the Start and Enchantment. But before all that, he was just a middle-class kid in Hawaii, a grandson of Japanese immigrants, who loved football and got a C+ in 9th grade English. Wise Guy, his most personal book, is about his surprising journey. It's not a traditional memoir but a series of vignettes. He toyed with calling it Miso Soup for the Soul, because these stories (like those in the Chicken Soup series) reflect a wide range of experiences that have enlightened and inspired him. For instance, you'll follow Guy as he . . . • Gets his first real job in the jewelry business--which turned out to be surprisingly useful training for the tech world. • Disparages one of Apple's potential partners in front of that company's CEO, at the sneaky instigation of Steve Jobs. • Blows up his Apple career with a single sentence, after Jobs withholds a pre-release copy of the Think Different ad campaign: "That's okay, Steve, I don't trust you either." • Reevaluates his self-importance after being mistaken for Jackie Chan by four young women. • Takes up surfing at age 62--which teaches him that you can discover a new passion at any age, but younger is easier! Guy covers everything from moral values to business skills to parenting. As he writes, "I hope my stories help you live a more joyous, productive, and meaningful life. If Wise Guy succeeds at this, then that's the best story of all."

His bike is a converted Z1000 J type S1. 1982 was also the end of the seven year 1000cc AMA competition. For safety reasons AMA decided to reduce the maximum capacity to 750cc. His first championship inspired Kawasaki to develop a limited and street legal version of the Z1000 S1 racer. A tank badge bears the number 1 and the signature of Eddie Lawson surrounded by bay leaves. Only the 1982 model is a genuine “Eddie Lawson Replica”. It was followed by the 1983 “Superbike Replica” in two colour schemes and a modified tank badge. In 1984 the final version of this model range appeared, fitted with an 1100cc engine, two colour schemes and some other minor changes. After a second production year with an unchanged Z1100 R the chapter was closed in 1985.

This book was released on 2020-11-19 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A complete Pedagogy of Kawasaki Disease or Kawasaki Syndrome. Kawasaki syndrome (KS) is an acute, sometimes fatal vasculitis of young children. KS has replaced acute rheumatic fever as the most common cause of acquired heart disease in children. The illness is manifested by: § prolonged fever, § conjunctival injection, § enanthem, § exanthem, § erythema and § swelling of the hands and feet, and § cervical adenopathy. These acute features of illness are self-limiting, but coronary artery abnormalities occur in 20% of untreated patients. The etiology of the illness is unknown, but its clinical and epidemiologic features are most consistent with an infectious cause. Common cardiovascular manifestations of the illness include: § myocarditis, § pericardial effusion, and § coronary artery aneurysm formation. Treatment with intravenous gamma globulin (IVGG) and aspirin within the first 10 days of illness reduces the prevalence of coronary artery abnormalities from 20% in those treated with aspirin alone to 4%. Patients who develop coronary artery aneurysms, particularly those who develop giant coronary artery aneurysms, may suffer myocardial infarction secondary to thrombosis or stenosis in the abnormal vessel. Additional research to determine the cause of KS is urgently needed to allow for improved diagnosis, more specific therapy, and prevention of the disorder. Thus, an effort has been made to compile a complete e- pedagogy of KS Disease/Syndrome with plenty of ILLUSTRATIONS, as a ready reference for the enthusiastic and busy Medicos at one click! …Dr. H.
