Um solche Entscheidungen treffen zu können, muss sich die Unternehmensführung der aktuellen Finanzlage, im Klaren sein. Die Finanzlage eines Unternehmens, speziell die Liquidität, ist aber auch für externe Adressaten, z.B. Kreditgeber, von besonderer Interesse, da sie daran messen, ob Zins- oder Tilgungszahlungen der Kredite termingerecht erfolgen. So muss der aktuellen Liquidität immer große Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt werden, denn Illiquidität ist ein Insolvenztatbestand. Die Finanzlage kann man auf Grundlage von Liquiditäts- und Finanzierungskennzahlen (statische Betrachtung) analysieren, oder man bedient sich der aus dem Jahresabschluss abgeleiteten Stromgrößenrechnungen (dynamische Betrachtung), welche verfeinerte Analyseergebnisse liefern. Bei den Kennzahlen werde ich auf die Goldene Finanzierungsregel (Kapitel 3.1), die Goldene Bilanzregel (Kapitel 3.2) und die Liquiditätsgrade (Kapitel 4) eingehen. Eine laut HGB § 297 Abs.1 für kapitalmarktorientierte Mutterunternehmen vorgeschriebene Stromgrößenrechnungen ist die Kapitalflussrechnung (Kapitel 5), die auch unter anderem ein Instrument der Liquiditätsanalyse ist. Das vorgehen der Finanzanalyse erläutere ich durch ein selbst gewähltes Beispiel (Bilanz in Anlage1) näher.

Während die Bilanz vornehmlich die Vermögenslage und die Gewinn-und Verlustrechnung die Ertragslage abbildet, wird der vom Gesetzgeber geforderte Einblick in die Finanzlage nur bedingt gewährt. Mit Ausnahme von Mutterunternehmen, die nach § 297 Abs. 1 Satz 2 HGB eine Kapitalflussrechnung als Bestandteil des Konzernabschlusses offen legen müssen, ist keine gesonderte Rechnung zur Abbildung der Finanzlage vorgesehen. Um die Liquiditätslage eines Unternehmens beurteilen zu können, muss der Bilanzanalyst im Rahmen der finanzwirtschaftlichen Bilanzanalyse aus den vorhandenen Rechnungen des Jahresabschlusses ein geeignetes Instrument zur Liquiditätsanalyse entwickeln. Zu diesem Zweck soll die Kapitalflussrechnung im Folgenden näher betrachtet werden. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in den Bereich der Kapitalflussrechnungen und einer Abgrenzung der Funktionsbereiche, steht die Vorgehensweise bei der externen Erstellung einer Kapitalflussrechnung durch den Bilanzanalytiker im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit. Abschließend werden Möglichkeiten und Grenzen dieses Instruments zusammenfassend dargestellt.

Dem Jahresabschluss kommt somit die Aufgabe zu, ein den tatsächlichen Verhältnissen entsprechendes Bild der Vermögens-, Finanz- und Ertragslage zu vermitteln. Die Abbildung der Vermögenslage erfolgt dabei durch die Aufstellung der bestandsorientierten Größen Vermögen und Schulden im Rahmen der Bilanz. Über die Ertragslage wird in der stromgrößenorientierten Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung durch Gegenüberstellung von Erträgen und Aufwendungen und der Ermittlung des Periodenerfolgs berichtet. Die stromgrößenorientierte Kapitalflussrechnung soll nun zur Darstellung der Finanzlage, als eigenständiges Instrument neben Bilanz und GuV, eingesetzt werden und die statische Berichterstattung der Bilanz zur finanziellen Lage um eine dynamische Sichtweise ergänzen. Diesen Zusammenhang hat Karl Käfer beschrieben, als er die Kapitalflussrechnung als „dritte Jahresrechnung des Unternehmens“ bezeichnet hat . Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit soll nun dargelegt werden, wie die vom Unternehmen erstellten Kapitalflussrechnungen, als Instrumente zur Darstellung der finanziellen Lage eines Unternehmens, dem externen Analysten Einblicke in die finanzwirtschaftlich relevante Stromgrößenwelt geben können. Hierzu erfolgt zuerst eine Betrachtung der Finanzanalyse, die sich als Teilgebiet der Bilanzanalyse vor allem auf die Untersuchung der Liquidität konzentriert und Kapitalflussrechnungen als stromgrößenorientiertes Analyseinstrument nutzt. Danach werden die Arten und Ausgestaltungsmöglichkeiten von Kapitalflussrechnungen sowie deren Ermittlungsmöglichkeiten aufgezeigt. Abschließend wird eine Analyse und Auswertung der Daten der Kapitalflussrechnung durchgeführt und deren Aussagefähigkeit bezüglich der Finanzlage eines Unternehmens gewürdigt.
