Book excerpt: Braze alloys were designed and evaluated for metallurgical compatibility with Cb-base materials, transition temperature, and high temperature strength of brazed joints. Four braze alloys: AS-540 (60V-30Cb-10Ti), AS-541 (60V-30Cb-10Ti-2C), AS-546 (60-30Cb-10Zr), and AS-547(59V-29Cb-10Zr-2Si), have been identified which exhibited excellent metallurgical compatibility and high temperature strength. Low temperature ductility of F-48 brazements, however, was decreased somewhat as a result of the brazing process.
