Book excerpt: Individual and group behavior has been studied over time by different scholars involving various loci (Ackfedt & Coote, 2005; Miles & Mangold, 2005; Yi & Gong, 2012). Studies revealed that besides employees' daily responsibilities, they engage in extra-role behaviors that help their employer organization. Consumer research literature revealed that these behaviors contribute greatly to customer satisfaction. This study employed a correlational approach to determine the interaction between organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) and job satisfaction of the employees of Microtel Inn and Suites Philippines. Customer satisfaction was measured as an independent variable and was interpreted based on the results. Two sets of questionnaires were distributed among employees and customers. The employee questionnaire focused on OCB and job satisfaction while the customer questionnaire focused on customer satisfaction. Focus group discussion was employed to further validate the results of the study. Thus, this paper shows the other perspectives of OCB in the workplace, contrary to the findings of other researches which focused on the positive effects of OCB.

The data was validated through reliability. The research also tried to find out the underlying factors of job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. The result of the study was indicated a positive linear relationship between job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. The finding also supported that there is no difference between males and females on job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior.
