Book excerpt: This book that you have in your hand is going to surprise many believers in JESUS because of their beliefs about the Trinity God. In fact, this book will also help anyone how to interpret Scriptures, especially Genesis 1:26-27; John 1:1; 3:16. I encourage you to read it and you won’t become ignorant anymore of who JESUS was in the Old and New Testaments. I believe you will have an open mind in wanting to know JESUS as the everlasting Father. It sounds contradicting, but you have to read the Book to understand it. Of course, the Bible is not contradicting.

Book excerpt: We live in a visual culture. Today, people increasingly rely upon visuals to help them understand new and difficult concepts. The rise and stunning popularity of the Internet infographic has given us a new way in which to convey data, concepts and ideas. But the visual portrayal of truth is not a novel idea. Indeed, God himself used visuals to teach truth to his people. The tabernacle of the Old Testament was a visual representation of man's distance from God and God's condescension to his people. Each part of the tabernacle was meant to display something of man's treason against God and God's kind response. Likewise, the sacraments of the New Testament are visual representations of man's sin and God's response. Even the cross was both reality and a visual demonstration. As teachers and lovers of sound theology, Challies and Byers have a deep desire to convey the concepts and principles of systematic theology in a fresh, beautiful and informative way. In this book, they have made the deepest truths of the Bible accessible in a way that can be seen and understood by a visual generation.

Book excerpt: When world-class biblical scholar Bart Ehrman first began to study the texts of the Bible in their original languages he was startled to discover the multitude of mistakes and intentional alterations that had been made by earlier translators. In Misquoting Jesus, Ehrman tells the story behind the mistakes and changes that ancient scribes made to the New Testament and shows the great impact they had upon the Bible we use today. He frames his account with personal reflections on how his study of the Greek manuscripts made him abandon his once ultraconservative views of the Bible. Since the advent of the printing press and the accurate reproduction of texts, most people have assumed that when they read the New Testament they are reading an exact copy of Jesus's words or Saint Paul's writings. And yet, for almost fifteen hundred years these manuscripts were hand copied by scribes who were deeply influenced by the cultural, theological, and political disputes of their day. Both mistakes and intentional changes abound in the surviving manuscripts, making the original words difficult to reconstruct. For the first time, Ehrman reveals where and why these changes were made and how scholars go about reconstructing the original words of the New Testament as closely as possible. Ehrman makes the provocative case that many of our cherished biblical stories and widely held beliefs concerning the divinity of Jesus, the Trinity, and the divine origins of the Bible itself stem from both intentional and accidental alterations by scribes -- alterations that dramatically affected all subsequent versions of the Bible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You might be surprised to find that God is not a trinity. The Trinity is one of mainstream Christianity’s most widely accepted and revered doctrines held by millions of Catholics, Protestants and Orthodox believers. The belief that God is three persons—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit—coexisting in one being is how the trinity doctrine is often defined. But the word trinity appears nowhere within the pages of the Bible. You can not cling to long-held religious traditions if they contradict the Scriptures. Your beliefs must rest solidly on the teachings of the Holy Bible. This Bible Study aid, "Is God a Trinity?", goes into great detail explaning the non-biblical origins of the trinity and how this false gospel replaced the true teachings of Jesus Christ. Discover how the Bible communicates a true picture of God and learn about the awesome plan He has promised for you and all mankind. Chapters in this ebook: -- Is the Trinity Biblical? -- The Surprising Origins of the Trinity Doctrine -- Greek Philosophy's Influence on the Trinity Doctrine -- How Ancient Trinitarian Gods Influenced Adoption of the Trinity -- A Spurious Reference to the Trinity Added in 1 John 5:7-8 -- How Is God Revealed in the Bible? -- Jesus Was Sent by the Father -- Jesus Christ: "The Rock" of the Old Testament -- The Apostles Understood Jesus to Be the Creator -- Did Jesus Christ Claim to Be God? -- "In the Beginning Was the Word" -- The Claim of Jesus' Disciples -- "There Is One God, the Father...and One Lord, Jesus Christ" -- God's Plan to "Bring Many Sons to Glory" -- Jesus Christ's Submission to the Father -- How Is God One? -- "The Lord Our God, the Lord Is One" -- Seven Scriptures That Debunk the Trinity as a Single Being -- Elohim: The Plurality of God -- Is the Holy Spirit a Person? -- Does Matthew 28:19 Prove the Trinity? -- Why the Holy Spirit Is Sometimes Incorrectly Referred to as "He" and "Him" -- What About Passages That "Prove" the Trinity? -- The Holy Spirit: God's Transforming Power -- How to Stir Up God's Spirit -- God's Nature and Character -- God's Purpose for You -- The Likeness of God -- Do Some Verses Deny a Divine Family? -- The God Family Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook: "Most people assume that everything that bears the label “Christian” must have originated with Jesus Christ and His early followers. But this is definitely not the case." "Many historians and religious scholars, some quoted in this publication, attest to the influence of Greek or Platonic philosophy in the development and acceptance of the Trinity doctrine in the fourth century." God the Father is the One who calls us to baptism and a new way of life (John 6:44, 65), and it is His goodness that leads us to repentance and baptism (Romans 2:4). "As even the New Catholic Encyclopedia, quoted from earlier, acknowledges: “The majority of New Testament texts reveal God’s spirit as something, not someone; this is especially seen in the parallelism between the spirit and the power of God..."

Book excerpt: God is one, not three. Deut. 6:4, Hear O Israel, the Lord our GOD IS ONE LORD. 1 Cor. 8:6, There is but ONE GOD: THE FATHER, of whom all things, and we in him. James 2:19, 1 Tim. 2:5, There is ONE GOD. And one MEDIATOR between God and man, the MAN JESUS CHRIST. Even the devils believe (and tremble) that there is only one God. John 17:3 says, And this is life eternal, that they might know thee THE ONLY TRUE GOD, and Jesus Christ, whom THOU HAST SENT. Eph.4:6, ONE GOD and father of all. Isaiah 43:10, Before me there was NO GOD formed, neither shall there be after me. This Trinity is an established matter by Roman Emperor Constantine with the meeting, known as Council of Nicaea, with all bishops in 325 AD. We cannot open it again. This is the opinion of many. After all, we are not under the kings and emperors now. We are in democracy. Nobody can dictate us. Constantine was not a Christian at the time of taking that decision, and it was only later he became a Christian. He was afraid that his Roman kingdom will break down into two with the fight among bishops about this Trinity, and so he held the Nicene Council with all the Bishops simply took the majority and then declared Trinity. We need biblical support for anything, not the human dictation.

Book excerpt: Did you know that the word “trinity” is not in the text of the Bible? Not only is the word not there, but the articulation, the explanation, even the gist or hint of the doctrine is absent from the words of every man and woman of God mentioned in the Bible. The Trinity is the result of a decision conceived, developed, formulated, amended and finally agreed upon HUNDREDS of years AFTER Jesus (pbuh) walked this earth. Jesus (pbuh) never said that he was God. Ever. In fact he said, as all prophets of the Bible said, that God is One. It is the numerous council meetings of those who lived after Jesus (pbuh), who concluded that the word “one” is not what it seems. It is they who mystified an issue which is crystal clear. They have borrowed the idea of trinity and married it to Christianity. This book is my effort to show that the Trinity is incompatible with the teachings of the Bible in general and the teaching of Jesus (pbuh) specifically. I will clearly define the position of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I will solve this mystery by challenging the supposed evidence of the existence of a 3 in 1 God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the Trinity. All three major religions identify with the God of Abraham. They differ in their understanding of Jesus. However, one God in three persons is found throughout both Old and New Testament. Getting to know God is critical for understanding the Bible. Yet, it seems that many people have not studied this thoroughly, and have questions like: • Is Jesus truly God? • If so, how, or why is Jesus the Son of God? • If Jesus knew everything as God, why did he pray? • If Jesus is God could he have ever sinned? • What makes God the Father different? • What or who is the Holy Spirit? This book answers all of those questions and more. When people ask, “Does Jesus love me?” The answer is yes, Jesus loves us all, but this love is conditional. The ways that Jesus loves us are from his own words and covered in the section Jesus-loving. How Jesus loves us was demonstrated when he sacrificed his life for us so that we might receive forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. However, not all will be saved. There is only one way to heaven, and the Bible says it is appointed for everyone to die once, then face judgment. (Heb 9:27) So, there will come a judgment day, and whoever rejects Jesus will not have eternal life, because God’s punishment will remain on them (Joh 3:36) The Bible also says many will abandon the faith. (1 Ti 4:1) This book will help you become more secure in your faith by getting to know God in the Old Testament and knowing Jesus through the Old and New Testament as the Trinity is explained. There is a spiritual battle going on, and our eternal destiny is at stake. Satan would like to separate you from God and one method is tempting you to doubt. Beginning in Genesis 3 when tempting Eve, he asked, “did God really say_______?” Since then, Satan has continued to insinuate we should doubt what God has said, or that he can be trusted. You may have heard, or even repeated some of the following statements, that presumably originated with Satan, the father of lies. • Why would a loving God let bad things happen to good people? • Hell does not exist. Why would a loving God send people to hell? • You do not really believe that Jesus is the only way to God, do you? That is narrow minded. What about other spiritual leaders like the Buddha, or Muhammad? • What about the people who never heard about Jesus? When tempted by Satan, Jesus quoted the Bible to refute him. You need to be prepared to do the same. This book is for everyone—because most do not study the Bible. Seemingly, many Christians either just listen to sermons or only sporadically read the Bible. Others may read the New testament but skip the Old thinking it is not relevant anymore or find it difficult to understand. However, we must consider the Bible as a whole to fully appreciate God. To make it easy, this book is written so you can skim, scan or study like speedreading. It includes verses and references to Scripture throughout. It is like going through the Bible in chronological order. As you grow in your knowledge about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit you will find the Bible much easier to understand and draw nearer to God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dogma of the Holy Trinity is the fundamental and primary Christian doctrine. It has been held by orthodox Christians that to loose or diminish this doctrine is to begin to descend a slippery slope, leading to the loss of Christianity itself. Yet at the level of the local church, there may be discerned a general feeling that the Trinity is both difficult to understand and unimportant; that to have faith in Jesus and to love one's neighbor is what Christianity is all about. Despite the recital of creeds, or the use of the trinitarian formula in 'The Grace’, most Christians appear in practice not to integrate their experience and knowledge of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Here eleven men from five countries combine to present a report and analysis of the way in which the doctrine of the Trinity has been, and is being, discussed in recent theology and by distinguished theologians. They all write from within a commitment to orthodoxy but they recognize that in our modern day we need to find new and attractive ways of presenting and expounding this ancient truth.

County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator. Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author and Bible expert Bart Ehrman reveals how Jesus’s divinity became dogma in the first few centuries of the early church. The claim at the heart of the Christian faith is that Jesus of Nazareth was, and is, God. But this is not what the original disciples believed during Jesus’s lifetime—and it is not what Jesus claimed about himself. How Jesus Became God tells the story of an idea that shaped Christianity, and of the evolution of a belief that looked very different in the fourth century than it did in the first. A master explainer of Christian history, texts, and traditions, Ehrman reveals how an apocalyptic prophet from the backwaters of rural Galilee crucified for crimes against the state came to be thought of as equal with the one God Almighty, Creator of all things. But how did he move from being a Jewish prophet to being God? In a book that took eight years to research and write, Ehrman sketches Jesus’s transformation from a human prophet to the Son of God exalted to divine status at his resurrection. Only when some of Jesus’s followers had visions of him after his death—alive again—did anyone come to think that he, the prophet from Galilee, had become God. And what they meant by that was not at all what people mean today. Written for secular historians of religion and believers alike, How Jesus Became God will engage anyone interested in the historical developments that led to the affirmation at the heart of Christianity: Jesus was, and is, God.
