Book Synopsis Its High Time We Talk by : Amol Annadate
Download or read book Its High Time We Talk written by Amol Annadate and published by Amol Annadate. This book was released on with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sometimes the adolescent boys and girls find it difficult, rather awkward to say certain things face to face to their parents. As a way out, this book will serve as a guide book to them. The book covers a wide range of topics and questions that usually confuse teenagers and adolescents. Those include the physical changes in adolescence; and other related questions such as sexuality, masturbation, homosexuality, addiction, love, affair and much more. 'Its High Time We Talk' also deals with several medical problems that are specific to teenagers and adolescent age. The author explains everything on the basis of scientific information through the letters written within a family of four members — father, mother, son and daughter. In this way, the book can serve as an awakening call to parents as well as their adolescent sons and daughters. In case of a confusing question or an incident, the related reference can be found out from the table of contents very easily; and page can be kept open for the boys and girls to read. This would help because of its straight forward, lucid and jargon-free language. If each family reads this book on adolescence Issues — both the parents and their adolescent boys and girls—several problems can be solved and misunderstandings vanished. Author trust that the stormy period of adolescence can be turned into a pleasant and memorable phase of life through the use of this book.
Book Synopsis The Holocaust Is Over; We Must Rise From its Ashes by : Avraham Burg
Download or read book The Holocaust Is Over; We Must Rise From its Ashes written by Avraham Burg and published by St. Martin's Griffin. This book was released on 2016-01-05 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern-day Israel, and the Jewish community, are strongly influenced by the memory and horrors of Hitler and the Holocaust. Burg argues that the Jewish nation has been traumatized and has lost the ability to trust itself, its neighbors or the world around it. He shows that this is one of the causes for the growing nationalism and violence that are plaguing Israeli society and reverberating through Jewish communities worldwide. Burg uses his own family history--his parents were Holocaust survivors--to inform his innovative views on what the Jewish people need to do to move on and eventually live in peace with their Arab neighbors and feel comfortable in the world at large. Thought-provoking, compelling, and original, this book is bound to spark a heated debate around the world.

Book Synopsis The only name we can call it now is not its only name by : Valerie Hsiung
Download or read book The only name we can call it now is not its only name written by Valerie Hsiung and published by Counterpath. This book was released on 2023-03-01 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unspooling from a mysterious and deeply discomforting encounter between the speaker and “K,” The only name we can call it now is not its only name slowly morphs into a long and impossibly personal examination of willfulness and ownership, mother tongue and mother earth, chronic illness (of body and soil), homelessness and exile, violence and place, severance and longing, private parts and public spaces, intimacy and institution, affliction and ardor, performativity, faciality, vernaculars, voice, filth, instinct, and clowning. Written in a suspended moment when Hsiung experienced a profound crisis of silence in her life, what begins as a truly hybrid interrogation of an interrogation between student and teacher contorts into an entangled and incantatory excavation of the origins of a poet’s psyche and relationship with the world itself. A work that was not composed but decomposed by way of worms and flies and a hazardous exposure to the elements of mythology, ecology, and epistemology, The only name we can call it now is not its only name is both a perennial coalescing convalescence between individual and societal specters and the tectonic documentation of a repeated attempt to endure.

Download or read book Find Your Why written by Simon Sinek and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2017-09-05 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Start With Why has led millions of readers to rethink everything they do – in their personal lives, their careers and their organizations. Now Find Your Why picks up where Start With Why left off. It shows you how to apply Simon Sinek’s powerful insights so that you can find more inspiration at work -- and in turn inspire those around you. I believe fulfillment is a right and not a privilege. We are all entitled to wake up in the morning inspired to go to work, feel safe when we’re there and return home fulfilled at the end of the day. Achieving that fulfillment starts with understanding exactly WHY we do what we do. As Start With Why has spread around the world, countless readers have asked me the same question: How can I apply Start With Why to my career, team, company or nonprofit? Along with two of my colleagues, Peter Docker and David Mead, I created this hands-on, step-by-step guide to help you find your WHY. With detailed exercises, illustrations, and action steps for every stage of the process, Find Your Why can help you address many important concerns, including: * What if my WHY sounds just like my competitor’s? * Can I have more than one WHY? * If my work doesn’t match my WHY, what should I do? * What if my team can’t agree on our WHY? Whether you've just started your first job, are leading a team, or are CEO of your own company, the exercises in this book will help guide you on a path to long-term success and fulfillment, for both you and your colleagues. Thank you for joining us as we work together to build a world in which more people start with WHY. Inspire on! -- Simon
Book Synopsis This We'll Defend by : Paul Crenshaw
Download or read book This We'll Defend written by Paul Crenshaw and published by UNC Press Books. This book was released on 2019-08-09 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In June 1990, Paul Crenshaw shipped out for basic training for the National Guard. By August, Saddam Hussein had invaded Kuwait. Each day brought more news of mobilizing forces. For weeks, Crenshaw was told he was going to war, but after graduation, he went back home to Arkansas and watched CNN every night, lying about how much he wished he had been deployed. Later, after Crenshaw had gotten out of the army, he began to question the reasons for the wars we fight. The essays here follow his time in the service, from Basic Training to weekend National Guard drills and the years after. Crenshaw moves from eager recruit to father worrying that his daughters might enlist. He watches the airplanes strike the Twin Towers and sees two new wars ignite out of the ashes of the old. He writes as a soldier who did not see combat but who wonders what constant combat might do to U.S. soldiers, how it affects them, and how the wars we fight affect us all. These essays reflect deeply on American culture and military life—how easily we buy into ideas of good versus bad, us versus them; how we see soldiers as heroes when more often than not they are young boys barely old enough to shave; how many return home broken while we only wave our flags instead of trying to fix them and the ideas that sent them to war.
