Book Synopsis The Stirring of Dragons Universe One by : Thomas Baskerville
Download or read book The Stirring of Dragons Universe One written by Thomas Baskerville and published by Europa Edizioni. This book was released on 2022-04-30 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A world in which only four humans remain, including Tom and Cathie, two young people who, for 19 years, have managed to survive against the injustices of the world using their skills. Four humans, seemingly different, each with their own strengths, who come together over issues of desperation and coexistence, representing the last human civilization. Each of them has a tragic story behind them and new adventures to face in order to survive the Extinction that has been striking humanity for years now. Tom (Thomas Baskerville), was born in Manchester but moved to North Wales only a few years later. It was not long before he was falling behind in class, he was eventually diagnosed as dyslexic. His parents and teachers wanted him to read more to practice, but he found children’s books far too dull for him. Instead, he turned to longer, more difficult books containing far more interesting stories. He enjoyed getting lost in fictional worlds designed by other people, but eventually found it easier to lose himself in worlds of his own imagination. This was especially true during the more challenging periods of his life. His interest in science played an important role in developing believable worlds; an interest which eventually led to studying for a master’s degree in Chemistry, but also opened his eyes to new possibilities for exploration of the stories trapped inside his head. Putting the stories to paper began more as a hobby, a time alone with his thoughts where he could let his imagination run riot. The more he wrote, the more he wanted to write. During his exams in school, he could use an offline computer to type his answers because of terrible handwriting and dyslexia. Spending so much time writing helped enormously with his spelling difficulties through the sheer volume of repetition. Now he is letting loose the stories from his imagination in the hopes others may get lost in his world, as he did with others.

Book Synopsis The Doctor's Dilemma by : Bernard Shaw
Download or read book The Doctor's Dilemma written by Bernard Shaw and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2024 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Doctor's Dilemma" is a satirical play written by George Bernard Shaw. This social comedy revolves around the ethical quandaries faced by a set of doctors once they need to determine which affected person is most deserving of limited clinical assets, particularly an existence-saving but experimental treatment. The imperative individual, Sir Colenso Ridgeon, a superb doctor, develops a groundbreaking remedy for tuberculosis, but is faced with the dilemma of getting the simplest amount of medication for one affected person. The scenario becomes more complicated when a charismatic artist, Louis Dubedat, enters the scene. Dubedat is diagnosed with tuberculosis, and his charm and persuasive skills gift a project to the medical doctors as they grapple with personal biases, professional ethics, and their own desires. Shaw uses the play to critique the clinical career, social hierarchies, and the moral complexities of choice-making. The narrative is laced with Shaw's signature wit and highbrow depth, reflecting the priorities and values inherent within the clinical field and society at large. "The Doctor's Dilemma" stands as a notion-scary exploration of the intersection between medicine, morality, and private ambition, showcasing Shaw's mastery of the use of humor and drama to dissect complicated social troubles.

Daniel found it hard to believe that someone in this quiet, peaceful town that he had come to love so much would actually do such a thing, much less even know how. Yes, there were the routine murders that had increased in the past year that he attributed to the stress that the foreclosures had put on so many families when the Denim Company outsourced to another country, but to actually hire an assassin? Daniel could hardly believe what the evidence was showing them, but it was clear. He usually worked alone but was glad to have Gavin for a partner on this one as there were occasions that required a second officer, and Gavin was proving to be a good detective. Daniel barely has time to sleep before a call comes in sending him out to another crime scene. Who is this assassin that stays one step ahead of Devanvilles finest, and why is he staying in this small, tight knit community?
