Book Synopsis Howard Stern Comes Again by : Howard Stern
Download or read book Howard Stern Comes Again written by Howard Stern and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2019-05-14 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over his unrivaled four-decade career in radio, Howard Stern has interviewed thousands of personalities—discussing sex, relationships, money, fame, spirituality, and success with the boldest of bold-faced names. But which interviews are his favorites? It’s one of the questions he gets asked most frequently. Howard Stern Comes Again delivers his answer. Rock stars and rap gods. Comedy legends and A-list actors. Supermodels and centerfolds. Moguls and mobsters. A president. This book is a feast of conversation and more, as between the lines Stern offers his definitive autobiography—a magnum opus of confession and personal exploration. Tracy Morgan opens up about his near-fatal car crash. Lady Gaga divulges her history with cocaine. Madonna reminisces on her relationship with Tupac Shakur. Bill Murray waxes philosophical on the purpose of life. Jerry Seinfeld offers a master class on comedy. Harvey Weinstein denies the existence of the so-called casting couch. An impressive array of creative visionaries weigh in on what Stern calls “the climb”—the stories of how they struggled and eventually prevailed. As he writes in the introduction, “If you’re having trouble finding motivation in life and you’re looking for that extra kick in the ass, you will find it in these pages.” Interspersed throughout are rare selections from the Howard Stern Show archives with Donald Trump that depict his own climb: transforming from Manhattan tabloid fixture to reality TV star to president of the United States. Stern also tells of his Moby Dick-like quest to land an interview with Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the 2016 election—one of many newly written revelations from the author. He speaks with extraordinary candor about a variety of subjects, including his overwhelming insecurity early in his career, his revolutionary move from terrestrial radio to SiriusXM, and his belief in the power of psychotherapy. As Stern insightfully notes in the introduction: “The interviews collected here represent my best work and show my personal evolution. But they don’t just show my evolution. Gathered together like this, they show the evolution of popular culture over the past quarter century.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now, if you thought just because the title of this book is Jezebel, it is about you know who, I’ve some good and bad news for you, which one do you want first? Okay, bad news it is. At least, until this protagonist silences the little voice in her head that keeps telling her to conform and be ordinary, she will not be able to create a story worth telling. The good news is she has the potential but not before she untangles the web of murder mystery ensnaring her. That said, this reclusive protagonist, preferring the crisp logic of technology over the societal rules that do not serve her, does not only find solace in the digital realm, but she also devises an AI to aid her in understanding the mysteries of the ancient Egyptian society. This is until deceased bodies are discovered bearing tattoos of the symbols she had coded into the AI, giving her mundane life a whole new spin. What does she do? Well, we all know debug is not a pill available in drug stores, so she delves further into the technology and the new places it opens for her, every line of code she deciphers and every ancient rule she unravels, drawing her closer to a reality more startling than she could have ever envisioned. Except, the path to vindication becomes burdened with ancient rules encapsulated in a sacred book she must adhere to before she is able to debug the AI. Join Jezebel in a journey unbounded by time and space where she encounters the good and evil of the ancient world, and who is best to do it with but the historical and mythical figures she meets along the way!

Book Synopsis 'The Dream' of Bernat Metge / Del Somni d'en Bernat Metge by : Bernat Metge
Download or read book 'The Dream' of Bernat Metge / Del Somni d'en Bernat Metge written by Bernat Metge and published by John Benjamins Publishing. This book was released on 2013-05-03 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lo Somni (The Dream) is a dream allegory divided into four chapters or books. It was written ca. 1399 and is considered Bernat Metge’s best work. It is extremely innovative within the context of Catalan (and Iberian Peninsular) literature of the 1300’s. It consists of a dialogue between Metge-the-character and several participants (in fact the book is a dialogue between Metge and the Classical and Biblical tradition) on the topics of the immortality of the soul, the essence of religion and the dignity and moral essence of the human being. In addition to using many Classical and medieval literary sources, Lo Somni can be considered one of the first (if not the first) Humanist books to be ever written in the Iberian Peninsula. Metge wrote Lo Somni supposedly while in prison (house arrest?) following a dubious accusation about his involvement in the death of King Joan I. Metge wrote this work as a personal defense to exonerate himself and as an attempt to gain the confidence of the new King Martí l’Humà and his wife Queen María de Luna. Lo Somni ends when Metge-the-character is awaken from his dream. This foundational work also touches upon political themes pertaining to the Crown of Aragon, literary fashion and reception of Italian humanist works at the court, as well as on matters of fashion, cultural customs, taste and style.

Book Synopsis The Seven Revivals of the Apocalypse by : Robert A. Allen
Download or read book The Seven Revivals of the Apocalypse written by Robert A. Allen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-10-04 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exiled to Patmos, John the apostle receives a vision of the risen Christ along with epistles to be sent to the churches of Asia Minor. Unable to go himself, John enlists the aid of one of his guards as his messenger. Prochorus, a new convert, carries the letters to the seven churches. At each location he encounters the problems those first-century churches faced, as outlined in the letters. Interaction with the people in those cities brings to life the commendations and condemnations announced by God. At the same time his former commander, Ulpius, pursues him in an attempt to prevent what he considers disloyalty to his god, Emperor Domitian. Other trouble arises from those who worship the Greek gods. In spite of threats, arrests, opposition, and disappointment, Prochorus completes his mission. In every location he finds those who listen with open ears, respond to the divine message, repent of their sins revealed by a God who knows them, and experience revival.
