Book Synopsis La Epidemiología Aplicada a la Medicina Del Trabajo by : M. En C. Omar Garfias Rojas
Download or read book La Epidemiología Aplicada a la Medicina Del Trabajo written by M. En C. Omar Garfias Rojas and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-11 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis La medicina del nuevo siglo by : Carlos Tajer
Download or read book La medicina del nuevo siglo written by Carlos Tajer and published by Libros del Zorzal. This book was released on 2021 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Approaching pathology in patients by : Carlos Humberto Saavedra Trujillo
Download or read book Approaching pathology in patients written by Carlos Humberto Saavedra Trujillo and published by Universidad Nacional de Colombia. This book was released on 2015-11-01 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The firsd human society recognized to date is the Sumerian culture. It grew in the Middle East, on the banks of where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers meet, around the year 2500bce. This first society was alredy familiar with the concept of disease. It was defined as an "invasion and shutting in of a demon within sick persons body." The Sumerians tried to remove the demon by administering substances that would "confuse" it, and make it abandon the victims body. Thats why for many years it was thought that relief and curing had only a spititual or religious origin. Therefore, people depended on priests in organized societies (that had priestly orders) or on shamans ( in nomadic societies, or in thouse without priestly orders), the only ones capable of comunicating with the spirits in order to correct the problem. They were responsible for both their religious functions and for caring for health.

Download or read book Infections and the Rheumatic Diseases written by Luis R. Espinoza and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-09-26 with total page 458 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a comprehensive and up-to-date review of the basic and clinical aspects of infections and infectious processes that trigger or aggravate a variety of autoimmune and inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders. It delivers a timely update on the interactions between infection and rheumatic diseases in order to provide clinicians with the tools they need for proper diagnosis and treatment. The book is divided into five main sections. The first examines the basic aspects of bacterial infections with a discussion of molecular biology, the microbiome, various types of bacteria that cause infection, and recent advances in biologic therapy. The next section focuses on different forms of viral arthritis including hepatitis arthritis, arthritis associated with alpha viruses, and parvovirus-related arthritis. Subsequent chapters then discuss arthritis caused by mycobacteria, fungi, spirochete, and other miscellaneous arthritides. Following this are various analyzations on reactive arthritis and infection-related rheumatic diseases such as Whipple’s Disease, SAPHO Syndrome, rheumatic fever, and HIV-associated rheumatic manifestations. Finally, the book closes with three chapters on external impacts on infectious diseases such as climate change, vaccinations and systemic lupus erythematosus. Infections and the Rheumatic Diseases is an essential resource for physicians and related professionals, residents, fellows, graduate students, and nurses in rheumatology, clinical immunology, and internal medicine.

Book Synopsis Immune system disorders: from molecular mechanisms to clinical implications by : Mauricio César De Marzi
Download or read book Immune system disorders: from molecular mechanisms to clinical implications written by Mauricio César De Marzi and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-10-17 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, the increase in knowledge about the functioning of the immune system has revealed not only its importance in the defense against external agents such as pathogens or toxins, but also in the control of tumor cells and the importance of the processes of inflammation or immunological tolerance. On the one hand, all this knowledge has allowed a better understanding of the putative pathogenic consequences of immune system dysfunction, which includes inflammatory, autoimmune and immunosuppressive diseases, among others. On the other hand, current knowledge about immunoregulation has paved the way to better prevent or control transplantation rejection. However, such mechanisms underlying immune dysregulation are highly variable depending on the type of pathology (systemic chronic inflammatory diseases, autoinflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, immunosuppression) and on characteristics of the host such as sex, genetics, nutritional status, etc. Given the wide variety of pathologies that are a consequence of excessive, inefficient or inadequate induction of immune responses, the study of factors involved in the dysregulation of the immune system has gained great attention during the last decades.
