Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Come share in my world! I'm presenting just a piece of me so that by the time we end this journey of my life you will fully be engulfed in my expressions! These short poems created for small book group discussion and table top chat as you gather with friends and family. I would like to take this moment of your time to thank you for reading Part 1 Ice Cream Parlor (short poems for discussion and small talk) As a picture is worth a thousand words self expression can be exposed and dissected to mean or be interrupted into how you have viewed personal life's experiences or have witnessed the lives of those around you. Life may be filled with a magnitude of sorrows, joys; difficulties and triumphant times. Take time to enjoy life and build in areas that have been weakened; reinforce your mind with positive flow and avoid the negatives that come to bring your self-worth into question. Our lives may cross for a substantial time frame or we just may by coincidence meet briefly to enhance one another. However we meet by chance or for a purpose; remember to always be the best you that you can be! Life is too short to view life through tinted glass. Take daily inventory of self to discover the true essence of you! This edition was created as an introduction to My World My Life My Expressions a collection of poetry that I have written for the past 30 years. I look forward to having you apart of my reading audience, a fan of my creative written expressions. My written expressions will touch on a vast amount of topics that will persuade you to invite and share what you've discovered with friends and family for years to come. I encourage you to provide feedback and comments through appropriate methods. My hope is to generate responses that will assist me with creating more written work that will build up, edify and encourage all people. My collection of poetry is intended to encourage, edify and provoke the emotion to deal with the reality of what is and what was. Poems are thoughts that one thinks and the way one lives physically and spiritually. Special thanks and gratitude to my Lord and Savior for blessing me with a sound mind to think, act and respond to today's reality and yesterday's world in a positive and constructive manner. Poetry elevates my esteem and regulates my life, giving me direction and focus in reference to goals I must achieve, and the Freedom to articulate my inner most feelings in respect to the many challenges I've encountered. The free will to share my life knowing it will benefit those who will open their minds to receive a thought other than their own. These poems were written at various times in my life of discovery, growth and maturity for me. During life we encounter many challenges and obstacles that affect us spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I've written poetry for over 30 years that express my deepest thoughts regarding the joy and sorrow of living. Poetry is a gift of written expression that paints the true picture of my life. I know these poems will stir your soul, so you may discover that we are all created for the purpose of one's own identity. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read my poetry. Please take additional time to give feedback and comments you may have about a particular poem or all of them. I pray that you will be inspired and encouraged by the written expression of the many challenges that I have experienced in this life. I must also add that you are one of the people that have motivated me to pursue my dreams, objectives with commitment, dedication and the style that only I have. This is my opportunity to share my life with you. Peace & Love Trina Richardson Holloway

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Way of the Elegant Spirit is a story that lives within all women as they traverse the passages of life. It is the journey inward, the story of things to come. This book is a memoir about how one woman learned to believe in the unbelievable, to listen from within, and then, to act. The opportunities from her leaps of faith were extraordinary, arriving just when she needed them—in perfect order. Marcia Hebert at long last brings daylight to the inner world she has kept for herself. She shares what she has lived and learned. If her story can guide other women to the inner world awaiting them, she will have fulfilled her earthly assignment. This book is a road map for the journey we all must take. It is a look back and a look forward with stories, practices, and resources to assist all women traveling their path. Marcia is no different from you, perhaps just older. She writes to validate the lives of all women, exploring what happens in the final chapter of a woman’s life: as a teacher, how to continue to learn and grow; as a mentor; and as a cheerleader to support both you and your divinely inspired journey of self-discovery.

Book excerpt: Metaphysics and Mystery: The Why Question East and West is a critical analysis, comparison, and evaluation of philosophical answers, Western and Asian, to the question “Why is there something rather than nothing?” The question, first posed by the seventeenth-century philosopher Leibniz, was reintroduced in the twentieth century by Heidegger. Volume 1 begins with an introduction that lays out the issues raised by the why question. It then analyzes contemporary Western philosophers who provide either cosmological-metaphysical or existential-ontological answers to the question. It also considers transitional answers that bridge the two. Volume 2 examines Asian philosophers, classical and contemporary, who, though rejecting the assumptions behind the question, put forward nondualist answers that have a direct bearing on it. It concludes with an argument for a revised understanding of the why question that draws on the strengths and weaknesses of these Western and Asian philosophies and explores implications for ethics and religious thought.

Not only do students grapple with existential issues but they also struggle with ethical ones such as "Why be moral?" In Introducing Moral Theology, William Mattison addresses this question as well as grapples with the impact that religious belief has on day-to-day living. Structured in two parts, this unique text on Catholic moral theology covers cardinal virtues (temperance, prudence, fortitude, and justice) as well as theological virtues (faith, hope, and love). It is equipped with study questions, terms and their definitions, and illustrative case studies. Rooted in the Catholic tradition, this overview will also appeal to non-Catholics interested in virtue ethics.
