Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first edition of this well known book was noted for its clear and accessible exposition of the basic theory of Hardy spaces from the concrete point of view (in the unit circle and the half plane). The intention was to give the reader, assumed to know basic real and complex variable theory and a little functional analysis, a secure foothold in the basic theory, and to understand its applications in other areas. For this reason, emphasis is placed on methods and the ideas behind them rather than on the accumulation of as many results as possible. The second edition retains that intention, but the coverage has been extended. The author has included two appendices by V. P. Havin, on Peter Jones' interpolation formula, and Havin's own proof of the weak sequential completeness of L1/H1(0); in addition, numerous amendments, additions and corrections have been made throughout.

Book excerpt: The authors present a unified treatment of basic topics that arise in Fourier analysis. Their intention is to illustrate the role played by the structure of Euclidean spaces, particularly the action of translations, dilatations, and rotations, and to motivate the study of harmonic analysis on more general spaces having an analogous structure, e.g., symmetric spaces.

This book was released on 2007 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The subject of this book is operator theory on the Hardy space H2, also called the Hardy-Hilbert space. This is a popular area, partially because the Hardy-Hilbert space is the most natural setting for operator theory. A reader who masters the material covered in this book will have acquired a firm foundation for the study of all spaces of analytic functions and of operators on them. The goal is to provide an elementary and engaging introduction to this subject that will be readable by everyone who has understood introductory courses in complex analysis and in functional analysis. The exposition, blending techniques from "soft" and "hard" analysis, is intended to be as clear and instructive as possible. Many of the proofs are very elegant. This book evolved from a graduate course that was taught at the University of Toronto. It should prove suitable as a textbook for beginning graduate students, or even for well-prepared advanced undergraduates, as well as for independent study. There are numerous exercises at the end of each chapter, along with a brief guide for further study which includes references to applications to topics in engineering.

It has much in common with Hardy spaces but involves new elements such as hyperbolic geometry, reproducing kernels, and biharmonic Green functions. This book develops background material and provides a self-contained introduction to a broad range of old and new topics in Bergman spaces, including recent advances on interpolation and sampling, contractive zero-divisors, and invariant subspaces. It is accessible to anyone who has studied basic real and complex analysis at the graduate level.

Book excerpt: The focus program on Analytic Function Spaces and their Applications took place at Fields Institute from July 1st to December 31st, 2021. Hilbert spaces of analytic functions form one of the pillars of complex analysis. These spaces have a rich structure and for more than a century have been studied by many prominent mathematicians. They have essential applications in other fields of mathematics and engineering. The most important Hilbert space of analytic functions is the Hardy class H2. However, its close cousins—the Bergman space A2, the Dirichlet space D, the model subspaces Kt, and the de Branges-Rovnyak spaces H(b)—have also garnered attention in recent decades. Leading experts on function spaces gathered and discussed new achievements and future venues of research on analytic function spaces, their operators, and their applications in other domains. With over 250 hours of lectures by prominent mathematicians, the program spanned a wide variety of topics. More explicitly, there were courses and workshops on Interpolation and Sampling, Riesz Bases, Frames and Signal Processing, Bounded Mean Oscillation, de Branges-Rovnyak Spaces, Blaschke Products and Inner Functions, and Convergence of Scattering Data and Non-linear Fourier Transform, among others. At the end of each week, there was a high-profile colloquium talk on the current topic. The program also contained two advanced courses on Schramm Loewner Evolution and Lattice Models and Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space of Analytic Functions. This volume features the courses given on Hardy Spaces, Dirichlet Spaces, Bergman Spaces, Model Spaces, Operators on Function Spaces, Truncated Toeplitz Operators, Semigroups of weighted composition operators on spaces of holomorphic functions, the Corona Problem, Non-commutative Function Theory, and Drury-Arveson Space. This volume is a valuable resource for researchers interested in analytic function spaces.

Book excerpt: Partial Inner Product (PIP) Spaces are ubiquitous, e.g. Rigged Hilbert spaces, chains of Hilbert or Banach spaces (such as the Lebesgue spaces Lp over the real line), etc. In fact, most functional spaces used in (quantum) physics and in signal processing are of this type. The book contains a systematic analysis of PIP spaces and operators defined on them. Numerous examples are described in detail and a large bibliography is provided. Finally, the last chapters cover the many applications of PIP spaces in physics and in signal/image processing, respectively. As such, the book will be useful both for researchers in mathematics and practitioners of these disciplines.
