Book excerpt: Cet ouvrage présente les détails du développement et de la réalisation d'une machine-outil à commande numérique dédiée au procédé de formage incrémental de métal en feuille à double outil (« Double Sided Incremental forming », procédé DSIF). Pour exécuter le DSIF, deux outils doivent être placés de chacun des côtés d'une feuille de métal. Celle-ci est maintenue dans un cadre de serrage et elle est formée incrémentalement par le positionnement précis des outils. La machine DSIF a été développée dans l'optique de production de pièces prototypes afin de diminuer le coût et le temps de production des véhicules récréatifs. Il a été démontré que le procédé DSIF est le mieux adapté pour la production de pièces prototype de métal en feuille. Cette technique permet d'atteindre des formes précises en plus de permettre de former des pièces asymétriques. La réalisation de la machine DSIF est présentée à partir des spécifications techniques jusqu'à son assemblage final. Plus spécifiquement, une machine-outil à 6-axes faite de deux portiques à 3-axes disposés en vis-à-vis, chacun ayant son outil de formage, a été développée. La conception des composants structuraux et le dimensionnement des éléments mécaniques sont présentés. Ces éléments ont été sélectionnés pour répondre aux caractéristiques de force et de précision du procédé. Un modèle complet d'évaluation de la rigidité de la machine est aussi construit. Dans l'objectif de fournir une machine suffisamment précise pour les requis du procédé, une méthode de compensation des erreurs de rectitude des guides linéaires est proposée à partir de mesures prises au traqueur laser. Il s'agit d'une méthode d'atténuation numérique où des Matrices de Transformation Homogènes (MTH) sont appliquées sur tous les composants du système multi-corps de la machine. Des détails quant à la prise de mesure au traqueur laser, le traitement des données, l'application du modèle multi-corps ainsi que l'application de la méthode de compensation sont présentés.
