Mit vierzehn Jahren kam sie nach Deutschland und wurde zun chst in die 8. Klasse einer Hauptschule eingestuft. Es folgte der Besuch der Realschule und einer h heren Handelsschule, bevor der weitere Besuch einer Fachoberschule aufgrund zu geringer Sprachkenntnisse abgelehnt wurde. Wenig sp ter nahm sie ber einen privaten Bildungstr ger eine Praktikantenstelle an der Universit t Kassel an, in der sie vor allem ihre vielseitigen sprachlichen Kompetenzen einsetzen konnte. Dies erkannten auch ihre Vorgesetzten und boten ihr eine Ausbildung zur B rokauffrau an. Der berufliche Lebenslauf von Zohra zeigt die Potenziale bei Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund auf, l sst aber gleichzeitig auch m gliche Probleme junger Migranten im deutschen Bildungssystem erkennen. Ich habe die Biografie von Zohra zum Anlass genommen, herauszufinden, ob jugendliche Migranten interkulturelle Kompetenzen besitzen und ob der Einsatz der vorhandenen Potenziale den wohl schwierigen Zugang zum deutschen Bildungssystem verbessert. Das vorliegende Buch kl rt zun chst die Frage nach den Urspr ngen, der Entwicklung und dem Verst ndnis interkultureller Kompetenz. Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Kulturen besitzen verschiedene Identit ten, die durch ihre kulturelle Pr gung bestimmt sind. Sie lernen mit- und voneinander. Die Begriffe Kultur und Identit t sind aufgrund dieser Tatsache wichtige Bausteine interkultureller Kompetenz. Weiterhin entstehen durch das Aufeinandertreffen von Menschen in kulturellen berschneidungssituationen Vorurteile, Stereotype und Ethnozentrismus, die einen Ansatzpunkt interkulturellen Lernens darstellen. Aus diesem Grund soll auch die Frage beantwortet werden, ob diese Notwendigkeit in der beruflichen Bildung schon erkannt worden, ob eine Implementierung des Erwerbs interkultureller Kompetenz im Curriculum möglich und ob eine solche überhaupt gewollt ist. Um diese Fragen zu klären ist die vorliegende Arbeit so aufgebaut, dass im ersten Teil zunächst definiert wird, was den Begriff Kultur ausmacht. Dies macht es möglich auch interkulturelle Kompetenz begrifflich einzuordnen. Anschließend daran werden dann verschiedene Dimensionen interkultureller Kompetenz aufgezeigt und ein Bezug zu allgemeiner Handlungskompetenz hergestellt. Im zweiten Teil soll der Blick dann auf die Globalisierung als Referenz interkultureller Kompetenz gerichtet werden. Hierfür wird untersucht werden, welchen Chancen und Herausforderungen Unternehmen durch die Globalisierung ausgesetzt sind und welche Auswirkungen dies auf die Anforderungen auf die Mitarbeiter hat. Außerdem soll herausgearbeitet werden, welche Relevanz interkulturelle Kompetenz in Unternehmen hat und ob es Schulungsmaßnahmen der Firmen gibt, um genannte Kompetenz bei den Mitarbeitern zu fördern, beziehungsweise wie solche Maßnahmen zurzeit aussehen. Ausgehend von diesen Voruntersuchungen soll im dritten Teil analysiert werden, welche Bedeutung dem Erwerb interkultureller Kompetenz in der kaufmännischen Berufsausbildung zurzeit zukommt. Hierzu wird zunächst ein Blick auf die allgemeine Bedeutung des Erwerbs geworfen, um dann exemplarisch am Ausbildungsgang zum Kaufmann/Kauffrau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung zu analysieren, inwiefern interkulturelle Kompetenz curricular im Ausbildungsberuf verankert ist. Im vierten Teil soll dann eine Analyse erfolgen, inwiefern das Curriculum es zukünftig zulässt interkulturelle Kompetenz weiter im Ausbildungsgang Kaufmann/Kauffrau für Spedition und Logistikdienstleistung zu verankern.

Their experiences, their contested legal status in the host countries, and their treatment before, during, and after migration call for an ethics of child migration that places unaccompanied migrant children at the center. This volume gathers international experts from the fields of social work, social science, law, philosophy, and Catholic ethics. Social science, psychological, and social work studies, analyses of US and international law of child migration, refuge and asylum policies, and several case studies regarding law enforcement highlight the more recent shifts in policies both in the United States and Europe. The current policies are confronted with two major normative frameworks that go beyond migration laws or the international refugee and asylum provisions: the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, and the approach of the Catholic social ethics of migration. The authors address the challenges of childhood under the conditions of migration: the uprooting of lives, the journey and transition into foreign countries and cultures, and the transition into adulthood. They discern the legal provisions and obstacles of the immigration process, the securitization of the borders, and the criminalization of unaccompanied migrant children. Catholic social ethics, the theological authors argue, must offer more than its pastoral call for charity, solidarity, and compassion that is already in place, inspiring multiple Catholic organizations, groups, and individuals. The Christian emphasis on family rights and values, originating in the story of the Holy Family, is necessary, yet insufficient when children are separated from their parents—instead, children must be recognized as vulnerable agents in their own right, and the moral dilemmas families sometimes face be acknowledged. US and European policies must be informed by the interpretation of justice, and the principle of the common good must be held against the firewalling of the West. As a political ethics, Catholic social ethics must critique and reject the use of the Christian religion for nationalist policies and depictions of migrant children as a threat to the cultural identity of Western societies.
