Parmi ces migrants, un pourcentage croissant a la particularité d'être mineurs et non accompagnés (MNA). La Suisse accueille ainsi un nombre important de MNA à qui elle doit accorder, conformément à la Convention relative aux droits de l'enfant (CDE) ratifiée en 1997, les droits promulgués à tous les mineurs relevant de sa juridiction. Par conséquent, la Suisse est tenue de mettre en place des mesures en vue d'assurer une protection et un soutien spécifique aux MNA pour leur permettre un développement harmonieux. Cette recherche tente de saisir les enjeux liés à l'intégration en Suisse du point de vue des MNA en s'intéressant à l'importance des relations avec la population d'accueil. En effet, ces jeunes, en manque de repères culturels et sociaux, sont priés de s'intégrer et de s'adapter aux normes et valeurs suisses. Or, c'est à travers les interactions que les individus se développent et construisent leur identité. Dès lors, il convient d'insister sur l'importance de projets mis en place par des structures formelles, mais également sur l'importance de la participation de la population civile dans leur processus d'intégration. L'approche compréhensive de cette recherche permet de considérer le MNA comme un acteur social qui oriente ses actions par rapport à un système et à des individus.

La situation particulièrement vulnérable des MNA nécessite la mise en place de mesures particulières afin de leur permettre un développement harmonieux. Cette recherche s'intéresse à l'intégration des mineurs non accompagnés. Considérant le MNA comme un sujet de droit et acteur social, nous entendons plus précisément mettre en lumière son point de vue au sujet de l'intégration. Ainsi, grâce aux entretiens réalisés avec les jeunes, leur capacité d'agir est discutée. Finalement, nous proposons des pistes d'actions afin de renforcer le processus d'intégration des mineurs non accompagnés.

En effet, dans la plupart des cas, les enfants migrants quittent leur pays dans l'espoir de se construire un avenir meilleur en Suisse, et ainsi obtenir un statut social. Néanmoins, une fois sur territoire suisse, ces jeunes sont confrontés à de nombreuses difficultés liées à leur statut légal. Le développement personnel, social et professionnel du jeune migrant est alors profondément bouleversé. Dès lors, nous souhaitons aborder dans cette recherche les défis d'intégration auxquels sont confrontés ces jeunes et les différentes stratégies mobilisées. En recueillant les témoignages de jeunes migrants et de professionnels préoccupés par la situation des requérants d'asile mineurs non accompagnés, nous souhaitons, dans un premier temps, nous pencher sur les difficultés principales rencontrées par ces jeunes en Suisse. Ensuite, nous chercherons à comprendre les ressources dont disposent ces migrants et les mesures à envisagerr pour améliorer leur situation quotidienne. Nous privilégions une approche respectueuse du statut de mineur et de ses besoins à la lumière de la Convention relative aux droits de l'enfant pour assurer une meilleure intégration en Suisse des requérants d'asile mineurs non accompagnés et leur offrir la possibilité de se construire un avenir meilleur durant leur séjour en Suisse.

The aim of this collection of texts is to propose a number of specific measures member states can take to help adult migrants become acquainted with the language of the host country. The main focus is on organising language courses that meet migrants’ real communication needs. It is not enough for authorities simply to consider the technical aspects of such courses, they should also design and conduct them in accordance with the fundamental values of the Council of Europe. A number of issues concerning the linguistic integration of adult migrants are presented here, beginning with the notion of linguistic integration itself. Family reunion, the nature of citizenship and the function of language tests, among others, are dealt with from the point of view of language and language use.
