Book Synopsis VHDL: Hardware Description and Design by : Roger Lipsett
Download or read book VHDL: Hardware Description and Design written by Roger Lipsett and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VHDL is a comprehensive language that allows a user to deal with design complexity. Design, and the data representing a design, are complex by the very nature of a modern digital system constructed from VLSI chips. VHDL is the first language to allow one to capture all the nuances of that complexity, and to effectively manage the data and the design process. As this book shows, VHDL is not by its nature a complex language. In 1980, the U. S. Government launched a very aggressive effort to advance the state-of-the-art in silicon technology. The objective was to significantly enhance operating performance and circuit density for Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) silicon chips. The U. S. Government realized that in order for contractors to be able to work together to develop VLSI products, to document the resulting designs, to be able to reuse the designs in future products, and to efficiently upgrade existing designs, they needed a common communication medium for the design data. They wanted the design descriptions to be computer readable and executable. They also recognized that with the high densities envisioned for the U. S. Government's Very High Speed Integrated Circuit (VHSIC) chips and the large systems required in future procurements, a means of streamlining the design process and managing the large volumes of design data was required. Thus was born the concept of a standard hardware design and description language to solve all of these problems.

Book Synopsis A Collection of Problems On: Calculus 1 by : Emre Sermutlu
Download or read book A Collection of Problems On: Calculus 1 written by Emre Sermutlu and published by . This book was released on 2019-09-29 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have been teaching calculus for 20 years. I have noticed that students find it impossible to solve all the problems in a big, standard textbook, and usually do not know where to begin. So I put together a set of typical problems, some with solutions, that will guide the students step by step, starting with the easiest ones. This book covers the first semester of the freshmen calculus most science and engineering students take. The theory is in the form of concise summary and reminders. The gist of the book is in the questions. The selection, solution, ordering with respect to difficulty has done with great care. Each solution is sufficiently explanatory, but at the same time, very concise. Just as the solutions a typical instructor expect at the exams. The solved exercises cover almost all types of questions you are likely to meet. Then, the end-of chapter exercises give you sufficient opportunity to develop your skill and test yourself.
Book Synopsis Essential Calculus by : James Stewart
Download or read book Essential Calculus written by James Stewart and published by Cengage Learning. This book was released on 2012-02-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for instructors who think that most calculus textbooks are too long. In writing the book, James Stewart asked himself: What is essential for a three-semester calculus course for scientists and engineers? ESSENTIAL CALCULUS, Second Edition, offers a concise approach to teaching calculus that focuses on major concepts, and supports those concepts with precise definitions, patient explanations, and carefully graded problems. The book is only 900 pages--two-thirds the size of Stewart's other calculus texts, and yet it contains almost all of the same topics. The author achieved this relative brevity primarily by condensing the exposition and by putting some of the features on the book's website, www.StewartCalculus.com. Despite the more compact size, the book has a modern flavor, covering technology and incorporating material to promote conceptual understanding, though not as prominently as in Stewart's other books. ESSENTIAL CALCULUS features the same attention to detail, eye for innovation, and meticulous accuracy that have made Stewart's textbooks the best-selling calculus texts in the world.
