Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis-Environmental Assessment and Removal Action written by RADIAN CORP SACRAMENTO CA. and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Department of the Air Force has prepared an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis and assessment of environmental impact to respond to contaminated ground water in Operable Unit (OU) B at McClellan AFB, California. Proposed action involves: (1) installation of extraction wells; (2) extraction of contaminated ground water; (3) treatment of extracted groundwater; and (4) release of the treated groundwater. Additional ground water monitoring, abandonment of a contaminated production well, continued extraction from a production well, and restriction on the use of a third production well are also proposed as integral parts of the restoration and water reclamation activity. This action only covers short-term measures to reduce the potential for increased health risks from the migration of higher concentrations of contaminants to on- and off-base water supply wells.

This book was released on 1997 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A field Investigation will be conducted at IRP Sites No. 7 (Dry Well off Corrosion Control Building) and No. 8 (Dry Well off Composite Maintenance Building), Montana Air National Guard, Great Falls International Airport, Great Falls, Montana. The Remedial Investigation (RI), completed in May 1997, recommended that an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis be performed at Sites 7 and 8 to determine the significance of the groundwater contamination, and what remedial measures, if any, should be taken. The field investigation will consist of installing four (4) monitoring wells at each site, collecting and analyzing groundwater from each well, and measuring hydraulic properties of the groundwater. The objectives of this investigation will be to assess the extent of groundwater contamination, to determine the potential risk of the contamination to human health and the environment, and to evaluate removal action alternatives.

This book was released on 1996 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Volume I us a Site Investigation Report for IRP Site No. 1 and AOC No. 1, California Air National Guard, California Air National Guard, 261st CCS, Sepulveda Air National Guard Station, Van Nuys, CA. This is the first volume of a two volume site investigation report. The sites were investigated under the Installation Restoration Program. Soil samples were collected and analyzed. An Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis was recommended to fully delineate the extent of contamination and condut remediation activities, if required. Volume II contains the analytical data, boring logs, and QA/QC logs. Soil samples were collected for analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs), priority pollutant metals, pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and sulfate to determine background levels. Soil vapor samples were collected for determining the optimum number and location of soil sampling borings needed to confirm the absence or presence of soil contamination.

This book was released on 1997 with total page 67 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Installation Restoration Program was initiated by the Air National Guard (ANG) to evaluate potential contamination to the environment caused by past practices at its installations. Two sites were identified at Capital Municipal Airport during the 1990 Preliminary Assessment; the Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants Storage Area (Site 1) and the Old Fire Training Area (Site 2). Information gathered during a 1996 Site Investigation on both sites and 1995 Site Investigation Addendum for Site 2 did not provide adequate information for decision-making. This Field Investigation was designed to fill data gaps. The Tech Memo recommends Site 1 proceed to a No Further Action Decision Document, and Site 2 proceed to an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA). No further field effort is necessary to complete the EE/CA. Vol 1 contains the main text of the report. Vol 2 contains the supporting data.

This book was released on 1995 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents the results of an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis (EE/CA) performed by Parsons Engineering Science, Inc. (Parsons ES) at Plattsburgh Air Force Base, New York, to evaluate if naturally occurring attenuation mechanisms would be sufficient to reduce dissolved fuel-related compounds in shallow ground water at and migrating from the former Fire Training Area (Site FT-002) to levels that meet federal- and state-specified ground water protection standards. Several site investigations completed at Site FT-002 under the Department of Defense (DOD) Installation Restoration Program (IRP) indicate that the soil and ground water associated with and downgradient of the former fire training area is contaminated with JP-4-related compounds and chlorinated solvents. Significant light nonaqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) still exists at the site, which acts as a continuing source of contamination mass to the ground water. The main emphasis of the work described herein was to quantitatively investigate the fate and transport of dissolved benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) in the shallow ground water at the site. The fate and transport of dissolved chlorinated solvents (i.e., trichloroethene (TCE), cis- and trans-dichloroethene (DCE), and vinyl chloride) in shallow ground water was qualitatively considered to evaluate whether remedial technologies that may be appropriate for the BTEX compounds would also be effective on these other site-related contaminants.

Technical Report written by WESTON (ROY F) INC WEST CHESTER PA. and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fifteen sites of potential environmental concern, grouped into six waste management zones, were evaluated. A total of 22 monitor wells were installed and groundwater samples were obtained from each well. Soil samples were obtained for chemical analysis from 12 soil borings. Samples of surface water, bottom sediments and fish tissues were obtained from three ponds. All chemical analyses were accomplished in accordance with Standard USEPA analytical methods. Based on the sampling and analyses performed, levels of contamination were found in soils or groundwater at seven of the 15 sites evaluated which warrant further investigation and potential remedial actions. Recommendations were made as to appropriate follow-up site evaluation work at these seven sites.
Book Synopsis Work Plan for an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis in Support of Intrinsic Remediation (Natural Attenuation) at Sites FT01 and SS12 King Salmon Airport, Alaska by :
Download or read book Work Plan for an Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis in Support of Intrinsic Remediation (Natural Attenuation) at Sites FT01 and SS12 King Salmon Airport, Alaska written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work plan was prepared by Engineering-Science, Inc. (ES) for the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence (AFCEE). It presents the scope of work required for the collection of data necessary to conduct an engineering evaluation/cost analysis (EE/CA) for remediation of two fuel-hydrocarbon-contaminated ground water sites at King Salmon Airport (KSA), in King Salmon, Alaska. The two sites to be addressed in this work plan are Fire Training Area No. 1 (Site FT01) and the Upper Naknek site (Site SS12). Investigations have been previously undertaken at both sites as part of the U S Air Force (USAF) Installation Restoration Program (IRP). Several remedial options will be evaluated during the EE/CA, including free product removal; ground water extraction, treatment, and re-injection (i.e., pump and treat); and intrinsic remediation with long-term monitoring (intrinsic remediation). All hydrogeologic and ground water chemical data necessary ;to evaluate the various remedial option will be collected under this program; however, this work plan is oriented primarily toward the collection of hydrogeologic data to be used as input into the Bioplume II (trade name) ground water model in support of the intrinsic remediation option for restoration of fuel-hydrocarbon-contaminated ground water.
