Book excerpt: Este libro titulado "Instalación y mantenimiento de aparatos sanitarios de uso doméstico" se corresponde con la UF0411 (60 horas) incluida en Módulo formativo "Instalación de tuberías" (MF1154_1) perteneciente al Certificado de profesionalidad IMAI0108 Operaciones de fontanería y calefacción-climatización doméstica, y su contenido ha sido adaptado al real decreto 1375/2009, de 28 de agosto, que regula los Certificados de profesionalidad para la Familia Profesional de Instalación y Mantenimiento. La Fontanería es un oficio que tradicionalmente se aprendía con antiguo pero eficaz sistema de maestro-aprendiz. Hasta hace no muchos años este oficio tenía un tanto de artesano puesto que no existía el verdadero arsenal de materiales, herramientas, dispositivos, aparatos sanitarios, griferías, etc. Ni tampoco existía una norma clara en cuanto a las formas de organizar los trazados, ni la disposición de los elementos en las estructuras de los edificios. A medida que la construcción de edificios se fue haciendo más compleja el oficio de fontanero requirió de unos conocimientos, que hasta entonces no eran tan necesarios. Fue con la promulgación del Código Técnico de la Edificación en 2006 cuando se regularon todos los pormenores referentes a la Fontanería de los edificios con lo que casi simultáneamente se fue haciendo patente la nueva necesidad de formación de los profesionales de este oficio para adaptarlos a estos requerimientos técnicos. Los nuevos certificados de profesionalidad conforman el perfil del nuevo profesional que las empresas demandan, y por ende se hacen necesarios textos adaptados a estos nuevos perfiles, con materiales didácticos que desarrollen esta materia incluyendo información detallada y precisa sobre la esencia teórica en que se fundamentan los conocimientos, así como la incorporación de técnicas, desarrollos prácticos y conocimiento de materiales de última hora para la ejecución de dichas instalaciones.

Book excerpt: In this paper we analyze the incidence of the VAT and its effects on the income distribution. To identify these effects, we rely on two tax reforms undertaken in Mexico that increased the VAT rate for a group of cities and left the rest unaffected. We compare the inflation rate of the affected cities with the exempted cities before and after the law changed. We find that the effect on prices is limited and conclude that the burden of the tax is indeed shared between producers and consumers. Regarding welfare, we find that the VAT is progressive in both absolute and relative terms to the overall expenditure. Finally, we show that an identical change in the VAT rate when inflation is high and persistent doubles its pass-through to inflation and its welfare loss for the average household.
