Son múltiples los vectores y elementos que configuran ese constructo que nos anuncia cambio, modificación o novedad. Se trata de un cambio intencional, conducido en un escenario multiaxial en donde el docente universitario se mueve entre múltiples disciplinas científicas, con locus más o menos debatidos dentro de la enseñanza universitaria. De otra parte, nos encontramos con una importantísima renovación de los marcos conceptuales de carácter metodológico, tanto en un sentido estricto (métodos y técnicas específicas variadas acuden a insertarse en la tarea cotidiana del docente universitario), como en un sentido más abierto: enfoques de competencias, modelos dialógicos, diversidad, inclusión, género, etc. Así nos encontramos con cambios curriculares de gran calado como el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior, junto a diversas y abundantes irrupciones de metodologías específicas, unas importadas desde ámbitos de enseñanza diferentes a la universidad y otras generadas en el propio contexto universitario. En esta obra nos planteamos ofrecer al lector interesado por la acción docente en la universidad una serie de aportaciones que todas ellas mantienen un denominador común, la de presentar respuestas a realidades emergentes afrontadas desde una concepción innovadora de la acción docente. Se abordan nuevas realidades vinculadas al tradicional campo de las TIC, acercamientos al tema de las competencias, de la diversidad e inclusión, ciudadanía...sin dejar de prestar atención a aspectos transversales como la colaboración docente, la formación permanente o el desarrollo de situaciones de estrés en el docente. Los autores constituyen un elenco de docentes universitarios, disciplinarmente variado: trabajo social, educación, economía, arquitectura, música, etc., por lo que su nexo de intereses en común, es la innovación docente en un escenario universal como es la universidad, pero desde experiencias singulares.
