School effectiveness refers to the extent to which schools are able to accomplish their pre-determined objectives. School effectiveness transcends beyond students passing final examinations. According to School effectiveness has become an area of major concern for educational research from the sixties onwards in the United States. These studies have tended to focus on secondary school effectiveness till 1980. We aimed at studying a variety of effectiveness criteria. As in some other effectiveness studies, we explicitly studied not only student achievement, but also noncognitive outcomes. The mathematics and the language achievement was measured by means of curriculum relevant multiple choice tests at the start of the secondary school and at the end of the first, the second, the fourth, and the sixth grade. The questionnaire with regard to the noncognitive outcomes was also administered several times during the students' secondary school career.

Book excerpt: Bachelor Thesis from the year 2011 in the subject Computer Science - IT-Security, Patuakhali Science & Technology University, course: B.Sc.in CSE, language: English, abstract: In computer networking, the term IP address spoofing or IP spoofing refers to the creation of Internet Protocol (IP) packets with a forged source IP address, called spoofing, with the purpose of concealing the identity of the sender or impersonating another computing system. On January 22, 1995, in an article entitled, ―New form of attack on computers linked to Internet is uncovered‖, John Markoff of the New York Times reported on the TCP/IP protocol suite's security weakness known as IP spoofing. The IP spoofing security weakness was published by S. M. Bellovin (1989). However, not much attention has been paid to the security weaknesses of the TCP/IP protocol by the general public. This is changing as more people and companies are connecting to the Internet to conduct business. This thesis is on ―Today’s Impact on Communication System by IP Spoofing and Its Detection and Prevention‖. This paper contains an overview of IP address and IP Spoofing and its background. It also shortly discusses various types of IP Spoofing, how they attack on communication system. This paper also describes some methods to detection and prevention methods of IP spoofing and also describes impacts on communication system by IP Spoofing. We think that our proposed methods will be very helpful to detect and stop IP spoofing and give a secured communication system.

Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS) version 20 employed in data analysis for quantitative analysis. Analyzed data are then presented in different formats such as graphs, charts and tables. Education is one of the most important sector in any nation. It is the responsibility of a government to set and launch national education policy and participate in setting up international policies on education. Countries have been investing much in education especially primary and secondary education, regarded as a basic education. Since independence 1961, Tanzania has made various efforts in broadening the education service to her people. This is to ensure that education service is accessible to nearly every Tanzanian. In Tanzania, the first effort of Fee Free Education was instigated in 1963 to ensure that majority of Tanzanians get education and to remove the enrolment gap between poor and rich households. Therefore, government financed and provided free education from primary to university level. International efforts on ensuring free education for all also guided Tanzania towards implementation of free education. World Conference on Education for All (EFA) held on 1990 at Jomtien in Thailand rearticulated the desire of achieving Universal Primary Education by 2000.

This book was released on 2019-11-12 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Didactics - Computer Science, grade: B, University of Zambia, language: English, abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the Computer Studies Curriculum implementation in rural secondary schools of Zambia’s Mufumbwe district. This study was guided by the following questions: What facilities and equipment are available for the implementation of the Computer Studies Curriculum in selected secondary schools of Mufumbwe district? Are there enough qualified teachers to enhance the effective implementation of the Computer Studies Curriculum? How appropriate are the teaching methodologies in the implementation of the Computer Studies Curriculum? What are the head teachers’, teachers’, learners’ and parents’ views on the teaching of Computer Studies? Globalisation and technological development in the world have accelerated and created a new global economy fuelled by information and driven by innovations. One way in which information spreads is by the use of computers. In the 2013 revised curriculum, the Ministry of General Education in Zambia introduced Computer Studies into the education system. The few studies in this area were done in urban areas. The rural setting has been ignored as regards to implementation of Computer Studies Curriculum. Mufumbwe district being a rural setting is a special case especially in a Zambian context considering development trends in Zambia. Specifically, the study sought to establish the availability of facilities and equipment for the implementation of Computer Studies, find out the availability of qualified Computer Studies teachers, examine the appropriateness of teaching methods and establish the views of Head Teachers, teachers, learners and parents on the implementation of Computer Studies in Secondary Schools in Mufumbwe district. Lack of computer skills among learners in Zambia may hinder technological advancement and fail to achieve the national ICT policy goal of 2007 which introduced CS as an enabler in a diversified and export-oriented economy, capable to improve livelihoods and protect the vulnerable through service delivery and provide an efficient and effective public sector. Further, Zambia may fail to achieve the vision 2030 whose vision is to have a prosperous middle-income nation through having a technologically proficient, fully able to adapt, innovate and invest using its human and natural resources. It was therefore important that this study was conducted in order to investigate how CSC was being implemented in rural secondary schools in Mufumbwe district.

AKAMPURIRA ABRAHAM, abstract: The study was carried out to investigate the effectiveness of Teachers' Performance in Secondary Schools. The methods used include qualitative and quantitative approaches to collect and analyse data. The research study was carried out in Kabale Municipality where it was found out that performance appraisal is not generally well conducted. There is poor feedback management, where appraisal results are not used for staff promotion, professional development or determining remunerations. Poor feedback has also bred into negative results like demotion, abuse and reduced salary. All the above have therefore resulted into staff failing to fill appraisal forms or when filled they fail to submit them to the Ministry of Education to use the appraisal results for staff promotion, job improvement and counselling sessions to improve staff competence.

Book excerpt: Conducting ethnographic fieldwork with children presents anthropologists with particular challenges and limitations, as well as rewards and insights. Children: Ethnographic Encounters presents ten vivid accounts of researchers' experiences of working with children across a variety of cultural contexts. Part of the Ethnographic Encounters series, the book offers honest reflections on successes as well as failures and shows that in all cases – even those that 'failed' – anthropologists can learn something about children's position in their social world. Going beyond the usual focus on North America and Europe, the text offers comparative insights into the nature of childhood in different societies. The chapters provide first-hand accounts of fieldwork with children in diverse geographical places such as Mexico, the Ecuadorian Amazon, Rwanda, central India, Thailand, Malaysia, and China. The book provides hope, encouragement and inspiration to anyone planning to undertake ethnographic fieldwork with children and provides important insights to students and researchers working in the growing field of anthropology of children and childhood, in childhood studies, and related fields.
