Book Synopsis Electrical Safety Code Manual by : Kimberley Keller
Download or read book Electrical Safety Code Manual written by Kimberley Keller and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2010-07-19 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Safety in any workplace is extremely important. In the case of the electrical industry, safety is critical and the codes and regulations which determine safe practices are both diverse and complicated. Employers, electricians, electrical system designers, inspectors, engineers and architects must comply with safety standards listed in the National Electrical Code, OSHA and NFPA 70E. Unfortunately, the publications which list these safety requirements are written in very technically advanced terms and the average person has an extremely difficult time understanding exactly what they need to do to ensure safe installations and working environments. Electrical Safety Code Manual will tie together the various regulations and practices for electrical safety and translate these complicated standards into easy to understand terms. This will result in a publication that is a practical, if not essential, asset to not only designers and company owners but to the electricians who must put compliance requirements into action in the field. Best-practice methods for accident prevention and electrical hazard avoidance Current safety regulations, including new standards from OSHA, NEC, NESC, and NFPA Information on low-, medium-, and high-voltage safety systems Step-by-step guidelines on safety audits Training program how-to's, from setup to rescue and first aid procedures
Book Synopsis Memristors for Neuromorphic Circuits and Artificial Intelligence Applications by : Jordi Suñé
Download or read book Memristors for Neuromorphic Circuits and Artificial Intelligence Applications written by Jordi Suñé and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-04-09 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has found many applications in the past decade due to the ever increasing computing power. Artificial Neural Networks are inspired in the brain structure and consist in the interconnection of artificial neurons through artificial synapses. Training these systems requires huge amounts of data and, after the network is trained, it can recognize unforeseen data and provide useful information. The so-called Spiking Neural Networks behave similarly to how the brain functions and are very energy efficient. Up to this moment, both spiking and conventional neural networks have been implemented in software programs running on conventional computing units. However, this approach requires high computing power, a large physical space and is energy inefficient. Thus, there is an increasing interest in developing AI tools directly implemented in hardware. The first hardware demonstrations have been based on CMOS circuits for neurons and specific communication protocols for synapses. However, to further increase training speed and energy efficiency while decreasing system size, the combination of CMOS neurons with memristor synapses is being explored. The memristor is a resistor with memory which behaves similarly to biological synapses. This book explores the state-of-the-art of neuromorphic circuits implementing neural networks with memristors for AI applications.

Book Synopsis Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry by : David B. Arciniegas
Download or read book Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry written by David B. Arciniegas and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2013-01-24 with total page 685 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The merger of behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry into a single medical subspecialty, Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, requires an understanding of brain-behavior relationships and a clinical approach that transcends the traditional perspectives of neurology and psychiatry. Designed as a primer of concepts and principles, and authored by a multidisciplinary group of internationally known clinical neuroscientists, this book divides into three sections: • Structural and Functional Neuroanatomy (Section I) addresses the neuroanatomy and phenomenology of cognition, emotion, and behavior • Clinical Assessment (Section II) describes neuropsychiatric history taking, neurological and mental status examinations, neuropsychological assessment, and neuroimaging, electrophysiologic, and laboratory methods • Treatment (Section III) discusses environmental, behavioral, rehabilitative, psychological, social, pharmacological, and procedural interventions for cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disorders. By emphasizing the principles of Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, this book will improve your understanding of brain-behavior relationships and inform your care of patients and families affected by neurobehavioral disorders.
