Book excerpt: Résumé : Les internes militaires de médecine générale destinés à servir au sein des forces armées bénéficient d'un enseignement spécifique délivré par l'Ecole du Val de Grâce intitulé module d'enseignement médico-militaire. Son existence se justifie par les spécificités du métier de médecin des forces. Cependant ces spécificités, communément admises, n'ont pas fait l'objet d'une description spécifique. Devant ce constat, nous avons souhaité initier une démarche d'élaboration d'un référentiel de compétences du médecin généraliste militaire permettant de structurer le dispositif de formation. Nous avons conduit une étude qualitative en interrogeant des médecins des forces actuellement en exercice. Afin de clarifier le profil professionnel visé par ce référentiel, nous avons voulu élaborer une définition du médecin des forces et une liste préliminaire de caractéristiques d'une pratique professionnelle de qualité. Puis nous souhaitions identifier les situations d'exercice professionnel de la médecine des forces, caractérisées par le contexte de cet exercice et la mission le justifiant. Nous avons obtenu une définition du métier de médecin des forces consensuelle au sein du groupe interrogé. Puis nous avons établi, en interrogeant deux groupes de médecins des forces, une liste de cinquante-deux mots caractérisant une pratique professionnelle de qualité. Cette liste préliminaire pourra être utilisée pour établir une liste plus restreinte de critères de qualité de l'exercice professionnel, qui devront être décrits et explicités. Enfin, nous avons établi, en interrogeant deux groupes de médecins des forces et en faisant appel à des experts pour catégoriser les données, une liste de dix missions et sept contextes caractérisant les situations d'exercice professionnel de la médecine des forces. Ils ont été croisés au sein d'un tableau afin d'identifier quarante-huit situations d'exercice professionnel. Ces données devront ensuite être synthétisées afin de nommer les situations d'exercice professionnel, et de regrouper celles similaires. Le recueil de ces données constitue une première étape dans l'élaboration d'un référentiel de compétences selon le protocole décrit par F. Parent et J. Jouquan.

The aim of this collection of texts is to propose a number of specific measures member states can take to help adult migrants become acquainted with the language of the host country. The main focus is on organising language courses that meet migrants’ real communication needs. It is not enough for authorities simply to consider the technical aspects of such courses, they should also design and conduct them in accordance with the fundamental values of the Council of Europe. A number of issues concerning the linguistic integration of adult migrants are presented here, beginning with the notion of linguistic integration itself. Family reunion, the nature of citizenship and the function of language tests, among others, are dealt with from the point of view of language and language use. Readers are invited to reflect on the type of language competences that need to be acquired as well as an appropriate use of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Until recently, the management of faecal sludge from these onsite systems has been grossly neglected, partially as a result of them being considered temporary solutions until sewer-based systems could be implemented. However, the perception of onsite or decentralized sanitation technologies for urban areas is gradually changing, and is increasingly being considered as long-term, sustainable options in urban areas, especially in low- and middle-income countries that lack sewer infrastructures. This is the first book dedicated to faecal sludge management. In this monograph, we review the basic principles and findings concerning differentiated product markets as they have been developed in the economic literature. Using Lancaster's characteristics framework, we posit that the audit service contains several attributes which are valued by top management. A key attribute is "credibility", which is communicated by an audit firm's brand name and is identified with the power of an auditor's test ... We posit that, along with other product characteristics, the power of test varies systematically across audit firms. Hypotheses concerning the demand for different audit service specifications (qualities) are developed in a context where companies are changing their capital structure through an initial public offering of common shares. These hypotheses are tested using a sample of 469 U.S. corporations which first "went public" during 1981. The results are consistent with the existence of differential audit services.
