The newly developed Field Spaniel is considered to be the father of the modern and extremely popular English Cocker Spaniel and American Cocker Spaniel. However, despite being the forefather of two of the most popular breeds worldwide, the Field Spaniel is a rare breed of dog that is actually considered to be a 'vulnerable breed' in the United Kingdom due to their dwindling numbers.
