Book Synopsis I See Blue Sky From the Corner of My Eye by : Samuel Andrews
Download or read book I See Blue Sky From the Corner of My Eye written by Samuel Andrews and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2021-06-21 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I believe the Bible is no use to us unless we learn to apply it correctly and directly to our day-to-day life and progress. People will fail you because we are only humans who are in need of a Savior. However, God's applied word will never fail you, especially during tough times. I believe that the best way to apply God's word is to study it every day. Get into a Bible-believing church and spend time around Bible-believing Christians. Have a regular prayer life alone where you tell God how great He is by praising Him. Next, thank Him daily for all the things He has done for you. Then, lastly, ask Him for what you need in the name of Jesus. Thank Him for providing what you need. Memorize relevant biblical scriptures and recite those scriptures while you are praying. Doing this will help build your relationship with God. Place your faith only in Christ and Him crucified and Him alone. Your prayers should always agree with what the Bible says God wants for you. The more of the Bible you know, the better relationship you will have with God who wants to bless you so that you can be a blessing to others. Do not spend much time with anyone who says the opposite. Did you know that you can thank God all day? While you are standing in line or while you are at a red light or even if you are waiting for the bus. Thank God in the name of Jesus in your spare time and in your planned time. Doing this will create an atmosphere of praise inside you. It will help keep you out of trouble and prepare you for when you open the Bible for your time with God. Download or read book The Colour Code written by Paul Simpson and published by Profile Books. This book was released on 2021-10-07 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How is The Colour Code different to other books on colour? Well, the short answer is that it is a whole lot more fun - not least because it is extensively illustrated. We don't just get a story about Mummy Brown (the pigment made from Egyptian mummies), we see a painting created with pigments from the remains of French kings. We are reminded of the blue/gold dress that swept Twitter, view paintings by Mondrian (red ones sell for higher prices) and Van Eyck (he invented an enduring green), and inspect the red soles of Louboutin shoes. We see what lumps of Indian yellow look like, while reading what they are made of (strained cow's urine). We get to see the latest most vibrant pigment - YinMn Blue - and have a real estate agent's tour of Frank Sinatra's ranch (he was obsessed by orange). We see William Morris's arsenic-inflected wallpapers and hear about whether wallpaper killed Napoleon. We encounter the pink pussy hats worn on the Women's March and Elvis's pink jackets from Lansky's in Memphis, take in a history of the black dress from Audrey Hepburn to Princess Diana and a rare black chicken (even its eggs are black) from Indonesia. Featuring a cast of actors, artists, chemists, composers, dentists, dictators, fashion designers, film-makers, gods, musicians, mystics, physicists, poets, quacks, tigers and tycoons, The Colour Code will change the way we all perceive the spectrum - and see the world.

Download or read book On Being Blue written by William H. Gass and published by New York Review of Books. This book was released on 2014-03-18 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On Being Blue is a book about everything blue—sex and sleaze and sadness, among other things—and about everything else. It brings us the world in a word as only William H. Gass, among contemporary American writers, can do. Gass writes: Of the colors, blue and green have the greatest emotional range. Sad reds and melancholy yellows are difficult to turn up. Among the ancient elements, blue occurs everywhere: in ice and water, in the flame as purely as in the flower, overhead and inside caves, covering fruit and oozing out of clay. Although green enlivens the earth and mixes in the ocean, and we find it, copperish, in fire; green air, green skies, are rare. Gray and brown and widely distributed, but there are no joyful swatches of either, or any of exuberant black, sullen pink, or acquiescent orange. Blue is therefore most suitable as the color of interior life. Whether slick light sharp high bright thin quick sour new and cool or low deep sweet dark soft slow smooth heavy old and warm: blue moves easily among them all, and all profoundly qualify our states of feeling.
Download or read book The Blue Q written by Dennis Avelar and published by . This book was released on 2020-10-10 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Earth itself is a remarkable place. It flows with life in every direction, and no one appreciates the joys of life more than Dionisio Sedano - a teenage orphan whose greatest passions include his love of learning, his desire to experience every adventure the world has to offer, and the never-ending joys found in the Land of Eternal Spring. But the natural balance of the world is in peril. The beings responsible for the wellness of our planet were forced to follow the selfish desires of a single, powerful leader, who is willing to once again destroy it all in order to restore that which was taken from nature. What stands between success and failure is a resplendent bird, who may be the Earth's final stand in the greatest ever clash between the Alpha and the Omega.
Download or read book Pale Blue Dot written by Carl Sagan and published by Ballantine Books. This book was released on 2011-07-06 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Fascinating . . . memorable . . . revealing . . . perhaps the best of Carl Sagan’s books.”—The Washington Post Book World (front page review) In Cosmos, the late astronomer Carl Sagan cast his gaze over the magnificent mystery of the Universe and made it accessible to millions of people around the world. Now in this stunning sequel, Carl Sagan completes his revolutionary journey through space and time. Future generations will look back on our epoch as the time when the human race finally broke into a radically new frontier—space. In Pale Blue Dot, Sagan traces the spellbinding history of our launch into the cosmos and assesses the future that looms before us as we move out into our own solar system and on to distant galaxies beyond. The exploration and eventual settlement of other worlds is neither a fantasy nor luxury, insists Sagan, but rather a necessary condition for the survival of the human race. “Takes readers far beyond Cosmos . . . Sagan sees humanity’s future in the stars.”—Chicago Tribune
