I made a decision that I would challenge myself to overcome this life altering circumstance. So after soul searching I went back to school, and also learned how to drive with adaptive equipment in my van which gave me more independence. Now gaining control in this new challenge of life, I was finding happiness in my new world. I always was a very competitive person which helped me at this time in my life. Now 24 years later, married 16 years to my beautiful wife Linda, I am blessed to still have love in my heart and love for others. I believe in family traditional values, surround yourself with great friends, and love my Lord Jesus. With all these elements in my life, I found myself having a passion to write in hopes of making the world a better place. Giving a different view on all of life's trials and tribulations of you and I. Positive thinking is inner wealth and health. I hope we all can continue to grow and love as our journey continues. Have love in your heart...this is where it must start. Remember, giving is receiving. Always do your best, this is your daily test.

The ongoing opioid crisis lies at the intersection of two public health challenges: reducing the burden of suffering from pain and containing the rising toll of the harms that can arise from the use of opioid medications. Chronic pain and opioid use disorder both represent complex human conditions affecting millions of Americans and causing untold disability and loss of function. In the context of the growing opioid problem, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched an Opioids Action Plan in early 2016. As part of this plan, the FDA asked the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to convene a committee to update the state of the science on pain research, care, and education and to identify actions the FDA and others can take to respond to the opioid epidemic, with a particular focus on informing FDA's development of a formal method for incorporating individual and societal considerations into its risk-benefit framework for opioid approval and monitoring.

The lectures were aimed at mathematicians who knew either some differential geometry or partial differential equations, although others could understand the lectures. Author's Summary:Given a Riemannian Manifold $(M,g)$ one can compute the sectional, Ricci, and scalar curvatures. In other special circumstances one also has mean curvatures, holomorphic curvatures, etc. The inverse problem is, given a candidate for some curvature, to determine if there is some metric $g$ with that as its curvature. One may also restrict ones attention to a special class of metrics, such as Kahler or conformal metrics, or those coming from an embedding. These problems lead one to (try to) solve nonlinear partial differential equations. However, there may be topological or analytic obstructions to solving these equations. A discussion of these problems thus requires a balanced understanding between various existence and non-existence results. The intent of this volume is to give an up-to-date survey of these questions, including enough background, so that the current research literature is accessible to mathematicians who are not necessarily experts in PDE or differential geometry. The intended audience is mathematicians and graduate students who know either PDE or differential geometry at roughly the level of an intermediate graduate course.

The path integral formulation of quantum anomalies, i.e. the quantum breaking of certain symmetries, can now cover all the known quantum anomalies in a coherent manner. In this book the authors provide an introduction to the path integral method in quantum field theory and its applications to the analyses of quantum anomalies. No previous knowledge of field theory beyond advanced undergraduate quantum mechanics is assumed. The book provides the first coherent introductory treatment of the path integral formulation of chiral and Weyl anomalies, with applications to gauge theory in two and four dimensions, conformal field theory and string theory. Explicit and elementary path integral calculations of most of the quantum anomalies covered are given. The conceptual basis of the path integral bosonization in two-dimensional theory, which may have applications to condensed matter theory, for example, is clarified.
