Liv knows he was always meant to be a boy, but with his new school's terrible dress code, he can't even wear pants. Only skirts. Operation: Pants Project begins! Book excerpt: Running with my pants down is a perfect metaphor for the life of one Logan Hunter. Emotionally scarred by the faith forced on him by the traditions of his wildly dysfunctional Catholic-centric family, Logan sets out to blaze his own trail. After a young marriage that everyone knew was doomed to failure, he moves on at a breakneck pace to drink in all that life has to offer, literally and figuratively. His life becomes ruled by the three Bs: business, bed-hopping, and booze. Somewhere along the way, he meets Misty, the sex kitten; Kat, the young, unpredictable one; Liz, the cougar with a voracious appetite for younger men; Champagne Washington, the sultry nightclub singer; Connie and Amanda, the gorgeous, sophisticated, and carnally experimental women who give him a night hell never forget; The Wild ThingsDelta Sue, Kitten, and Lola; and the always-intoxicating Spanish beauty, Carmen. Could there be more? In an ironic twist of fate, Logans best friend, Eddie, starts down an unexpected, life-altering path that begins to mirror Logans. Neither could predict just how a couple of chance meetings would change the game for each of them.

Book excerpt: From NBC’s TODAY coanchor Savannah Guthrie and educator Allison Oppenheim comes an empowering fairy tale with a twist. In the tradition of Not All Princesses Dress in Pink and Princess in Black, Princesses Wear Pants follows the unflappable Princess Penelope Pineapple, who knows how to get the job done while staying true to herself. Princess Penelope lives in a beautiful palace with a closet full of beautiful dresses. But being a princess is much, much more than beauty. In fact, every morning Princess Penelope runs right past her frilly dresses to choose from her beloved collection of pants! What she wears each day depends on which job she has to do. Will she command the royal air force sporting her sequined flight suit? Will she find her zen in her yoga pants and favorite tee? Or, will she work in the kingdom’s vegetable garden with pocketed overalls for all of her tools? Unfortunately for Princess Penelope, not everyone in the Pineapple Kingdom thinks pants are always appropriate princess attire. When the grand Lady Busyboots demands that Princess Penelope must wear a gown to the annual Pineapple Ball, the young royal finds a clever way to express herself. Penelope’s courage (and style choices) result in her saving the day! In their debut children’s picture book, Savannah Guthrie and Allison Oppenheim team up for a savvy and imaginative story that celebrates fashion and girl power. Perfect for fans of Nickelodeon’s Nella the Princess Knight, Princesses Wear Pants challenges gender stereotypes in the name of individuality, showing girls it’s not how they look but what they do that matters.

Book excerpt: Stills are moments in time or memory recollections of the author. The moments described span a period from the pre-teen years to the age of sixty. * From a child growing up in an inter-racial family in the island of Cuba during the decade of the fifties, to the sudden arrival and oppression of Communism. Followed by a migration to the United States in 1962 as an unaccompanied minor, a historical chapter that later would be known as the Pedro Pan Children. Soon after the father bid farewell to the son, the regime of Fidel Castro sentenced him to a 20-year prison term to serve at the Isla de Pinos concentration camp. In 1980, the Mariel boatlift, a controversial event that brought Cubans to American shores, provided the venue for the long awaited reunion in the free world. This achievement provided the turning point for the author to focus on his person and finally confront his inner most secret - "homosexuality". However, many hurdles lied ahead of this decision. Then the journey continued * This book is intended for an adult audience. For privacy protection, names have been changed where required.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was at my wit's end. I'd had enough of this job, this life, and my relationship had broken up. Should I eat chocolate, or go to India, or fall in love? Then I had a revelation: Why not do all three, in that order? And so it was that I embarked on a journey that was segmented into three parts and was then made into a major motion picture. Later, I woke up on an airplane with a hole in my face and a really bad hangover. I was ushered brusquely off the plane by my parents who took me to a rehab where I tested positive for coke, classic coke, special k (the drug), Special K (the cereal), mushrooms, pepperoni, and Restless Leg Syndrome. It was there that I first began painting with my feet. But rewind...the year was 1914. I was just a young German soldier serving in the trenches while simultaneously trying to destroy an evil ring with some help from an elf, a troll, and a giant sorcerer, all while cooking every recipe out of a Julia Child cookbook. What I'm trying to say is that there was a secret code hidden in a painting and I was looking for it with this girl who had a tattoo of a dragon! Let me clarify, it was the 1930s and a bunch of us were migrating out of Oklahoma, and I was this teenage wizard/CIA operative, okay? And, um then I floated off into the meta-verse as a ball of invisible energy that had no outer edge... Ugh, okay. None of this is true. I'm just kind of a normal guy from New Jersey who moved to New York, got into comedy, wrote this book about trying to write this book, and then moved to Alaska, became the mayor of a small town, spent $30,000 on underwear, and now I'm going to rule the world!!!
