Book excerpt: HONORABLE MAN PART 7 Chapter 184: Letting go of the grass and snake Returning home, Tan Kham discovered that he still underestimated women's imagination. It was said that Do Hoanh was escorted to the capital today, almost cut into eight pieces by Dong Han, Do Vuong Thi and Do Yen held their heads and cried, Do Hoanh is currently lying comfortably in his cell reading books and drinking wine. Two women stayed at home crying until their hearts were broken, one looked like a widow, the other like her father had just died. Tan Kham swore for half a day, explaining countless times that Do Hoanh was okay, so the two women stopped crying and felt a little more at ease. Coaxing Do Vuong Thi to go home, Do Yen, with swollen eyes, jumped into Tan Kham's arms and without saying anything began to sob. "General, thank you, although you said it very gently and carelessly, I know you are suffering a lot. A military officer of the Heavenly Protector forced Dong Han Han Cong not to dare to use punishment on his father. I did not know that you were in here. How much thought must be wasted, how arduous the price must be paid, but I can imagine."

"Dying" means - he is standing on the boundary between life and death. A rope was wrapped around his neck, and his whole body was dangling like beef jerky hanging from the kitchen counter, tied to the rafters, swinging to catch the wind... Damn it! Assassination! Tan Kham was both scared and angry and couldn't help but curse loudly in his heart. Right now, he didn't have time to wonder why, after waking up from the plane crash, he was hanging in mid-air... the only thing Tan Kham still had on his mind was what to do. to be able to live. Tan Kham grabbed the rope with both hands and used his strength to hold it down, intending to loosen his neck a little. Unexpectedly, the result was that the rope tightened

Book excerpt: Considering such witnesses of the time as Shakespeare, Dante, Petrarch, Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Montaigne, More and Bacon, Agnes Heller looks at both the concept and the image of a Renaissance man. The concept was generalised and accepted by all; its characteristic features were man as a dynamic being, creating and re-creating himself throughout his life. The images of man, however, were very different, having been formed through the ideas and imagination of artists, politicians, philosophers, scientists and theologians and viewed from the different aspects of work, love, fate, death, friendship, devotion and the concepts of space and time. Renaissance Man thus stood as both as a leading protagonist of his time, one who led and formulated the substantial attitudes of his time, and as one who stood as a witness on the sidelines of the discussion. This book, first published in English in 1978, is based on the diverse but equally important sources of autobiographies, works of art and literature, and the writings of philosophers. Although she uses Florence as a starting point, Agnes Heller points out that the Renaissance was a social and cultural phenomenon common to all of Western Europe; her Renaissance Man is thus a figure to be found throughout Europe.

Book excerpt: Jack MacDonald was born on a farm near Fort Frances Ontario on August 14, 1923. He was a typical farm kid with an unusually curious mind. He did poorly in school but as he grew, his natural sense of wonderment about everything around him led to fabulous adventures and a memorable life. The story of his childhood is surprising yet engaging, while the story of his adulthood is dramatic and exciting. Jack was a Canadian Army soldier during World War Two, where he was forced to take the lives of a number of the men of Hitler's Wehrmacht. Many of those battles are described in vivid detail in this book. The memories of the battles he fought in the fields and streets of Holland, France and Germany would haunt him for the remainder of his life. Despite those horrific memories, the love of his family would drive him relentlessly to find success as a businessman after the war was over. You will fall in love with the characters in this book. You will feel like you are there with them and you will laugh and cry as you become absorbed in the drama of their lives. If you enjoy reading about real people in real situations, this book is for you. The places and historical references in this book are real and accurately portrayed. The people in it are fictional but they carry the essence of the author's soul. "That best portion of a good man's life, his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love." William Wordsworth

Book excerpt: John Restin, Frank Smith, Russ Johnson, and Wade Ross were brought together by the Kennedy campaign. Now they are all Kennedy loyalists and beginning to live the life they have always wanted. Things change when they find out that John F. Kennedy is slowly dying from a concealed health problem. With his death, all of JFK's work and the men's hopes would go down the drain. That is, unless they make him die a hero. Wade has no doubt that assassinating Kennedy is the best plan. Russ isn't so sure. If everyone isn't in agreement, the plan will be shot down. Wade can't take that risk. Russ would have to die. Once the obstacles are eliminated, Wade begins a foolproof plan to assassinate JFK. He would need to make sure his name never came up at all; the blame would have to be on someone else. Lee Harvey Oswald is the perfect scapegoat. Succeeding in the assassination gives Wade a sense of accomplishment, and he feels more satisfied than ever before. He knows that it's just a matter of time before he kills again. When Wade reads about Martin Luther King Jr.'s planned Poor People's Campaign march on Washington, Wade knows it is time again. The black civil rights movement isn't finished; if King leads another movement, the civil rights movement will die from lack of leadership. Martin Luther King Jr. would have to die. Robert F. Kennedy might know too much. He would have to die too. It doesn't take long for Wade's friends, Frank and John, to catch on. Their knowledge threatens his very existence. Will Wade succeed in killing them too, or can someone put a stop to Wade's madness? What will happen to the Five Honorable Men?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of "Holy Bible" by John Biermanski, is to revoke all falsifications in today's Bibles known so far (the New Testament), and to restore the original state of the verses as far as possible. In the present work, you will find the holy and true name of the living Elohim/G-d "YAHWEH" (the Elohim/G-d of Abraham, the Elohim/G-d of Isaac and the Elohim/G-d of Jacob), of the children of Israel (Exodus 3:15), to his glory in this edition, and "The New Covenant ~ The New Testament", "The Book of Psalms" and "The Book of Daniel", in which all verses are written in German and English with "Appendix" in English (see the "Table of Contents"). The author was born in 1963 in North Rhine-Westphalia and completed a traineeship for wholesale and foreign trade in a pharmaceutical wholesale company. In the course of his professional development, he used to be a freelancer but was also officially employed; he has experienced a lot rises and falls throughout his life. While studying the Scriptures, he was led by the Spirit of the only God, the Almighty and the only Holy Father in heaven, whereas, by grace, he could recognize many things that are now presented as heresies to the world. In recent years he has been active in the proclamation of the Word of God in Europe, particularly in Brazil (South America), and has enlightened many people by his message, so that they get to know the true God, His holy name and His will and only obey Him - and start to think about all this, i. e. "so that they finally decide themselves in favour of the living God, instead of against Him, and their names are not erased from the divine 'Book of Life' forever." In 2015 and 2016 several eBooks were released of Johannes Biermanski by Ebozon Publishing. »Die Heilige Schrift«, »The Sacred Scriptures«, »A Bíblia Sagrada« and »Holy Bible« are available in different versions and languages.

Book excerpt: Operation MH/CHAOS was the code name for a domestic espionage project conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency in the late1960s and early 1970s. MH/CHAOS: The CIA’s Campaign Against the Radical New Left and the Black Panthers is an insider’s account of the CIA’s Counterintelligence Staff’s Special Operations Group first charged by Presidents Lyndon Johnson and later by Richard Nixon to find foreign intelligence, terrorist, organizations or government contacts, controlling or influencing Anti-Vietnam War activists or American black extremists protesting, bombing and carrying out other anti-government, unlawful or illegal activities in the United States. The operation was launched under Director of Central Intelligence Richard Helms, by chief of counter-intelligence, James Jesus Angleton, and headed by Richard Ober. The program's goal was to unmask possible foreign influences on the student antiwar movement. The "MH" designation signified that the program had a worldwide area of operations. When President Nixon came to office in 1969, all of the existing domestic surveillance activities were consolidated into Operation MH/CHAOS and used CIA stations abroad to report on antiwar activities of United States citizens traveling abroad, employing methods such as physical surveillance and electronic eavesdropping, utilizing "liaison services" in maintaining such surveillance. The operations were later expanded to include 60 officers. In 1969, following the expansion, the operation began developing its own network of informants for the purposes of infiltrating various foreign antiwar groups located in foreign countries that might have ties to domestic groups. Eventually, CIA officers expanded the program to include other leftist or counter-cultural groups with no discernible connection to Vietnam, such as groups operating within the women's liberation movement, including Students for a Democratic Society, the Black Panther Party and Women Strike for Peace. Also targeted was the Israeli embassy, and domestic Jewish groups such as the B'nai B'ritht. As a result of the Watergate break-in, involving two former CIA officers, Operation MH/CHAOS was discontinued. The secret nature of the program was exposed by Seymour Hersh in the New York Times on December 22, 1974. The following year, further details were revealed during Representative Bella Abzug's House Subcommittee on Government Information and individual Rights. The government, in response to the revelations, launched the Commission on CIA Activities Within the United States (The Rockefeller Commission), lead by then Vice President Nelson Rockefeller, to investigate the depth of the surveillance. In Operation MHCHOAS, the author, who is a former CIA officer, refutes the charges made by the New York Times and the Washington Post at the time that this domestic spying program first made headlines, and takes issue with conclusions of the Rockefeller Commission and the Church Committee. He relates how the Special Operations Group began, was staffed and how it was transformed into an anti-terrorist unit before it ceased operation. Rafalko details the information that Special Operations Group collected against the New Left and Black extremists and makes the case that the MHCHAOS program was justified, why the CIA was the logical agency to conduct the collection, and the consequences suffered later by American counterintelligence because of these investigations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sergeant Paul S. Porter experienced combat like few soldiers have lived to write about. Serving with the Fourth Armored Division in Company B, 53rd Armored Infantry Battalion, Porter and his light machine gun squad entered the front line of World War II on July 17, 1944, and were soon in the thick of the action. The Fourth fought through the hedgerows of Normandy before leading Patton's Third Army in its breakout and pursuit toward the German border. The slugfests that followed as the Fourth advanced through the mud and battered villages of the Alsace-Lorraine region were Porter's most difficult of the war. For his heroic actions in combat on December 4, 1944, Sergeant Porter was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross. This memoir presents the full story of Porter's extraordinary service in his own candid words, illustrated with family photographs. He paints a vivid portrait of a young man coping with the unique pressures of the battlefield. His candor when describing his officers and fellow soldiers provides a sober view of the dynamics within a team when comprised of individuals with diverse backgrounds and motives. Sergeant Porter has an intense desire to survive yet possesses a resolve to enter the fray and engage in combat eye-to-eye with the enemy.
