Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Busting heads was easy. Bad people needed to be dealt with. People who abused other people, such as children or even animals, need to be set straight. People who inflicted pain on the elderly, sick, or defenseless had to be taken out. The only things these bad guys understood were fear and intimidation. I was ready, willing, and able to do the job. That was until Jesus met me and called me to work for Him. He was the boss. He called the shots. He provided all the tools to get the job done. When He called out a hit, it was because He wanted to redeem the bad guys and help them to turn from their evil ways. I must admit, sometimes I would like to revert to my old ways and lay some holy hands on them, but with His grace, He keeps forgiving me and bringing me back to His way of thinking. I now call them God appointments when I used to call them hits. It sounds better, more refined. A good friend of mine would observe me when I started getting out of sorts. She would say to anyone around, aEURoeYou may want to leave him alone right now. I think he is losing his Jesus.aEUR I try not letting that happen much anymore. In my defense, I am a practicing Christian. I have not perfected it yet. Please pray for me.

Book excerpt: "So Herod killed all those kids because he was trying to whack the baby Jesus?" Early this century, archaeologists made a discovery that blew the world of theology wide open, a set of scrolls dating back to 31 AD giving a first-hand account of the life and times of Jesus Christ. These scrolls revealed that there was lot more to the man Himself than the conventional gospels would have us believe. Not heard of the scrolls? No, you wouldn't have. That's because they exposed a truth that was too shocking to accept, and the powers-that-be buried the story. You won't find any of this stuff on Google, don't bother looking. But writer and self-taught linguist A.W. Wilson, author of the comedy masterpiece, Accidental Hitman, got hold of the material and painstakingly translated them into a language that could be understood by modern readers. To some, this book will change their outlook on the nature of life and faith, to others, it will just seem like cruci-fiction? You decide!

Book excerpt: Can a Leopard change his spots, or can a heartless killer give his life over to serving the Lord and winning souls for Christ? In the natural, no. But with the Lord, all things are possible. When the worst tragedy strikes and a man becomes obsessed with hate and turns into a cold blooded killer, it would seem that there is no hope for him but to be a tool for the devil. The path of life that he is drawn into leaves a certainty that he is beyond redemption. Living as though he has a death wish, chasing danger and pulling crazy stunts all while going into the depths of a criminal organization, Gary refined his natural abilities to be the best of the worst. His abilities brought him to the attention of those who would exploit his talents to satisfy their own dark intentions. The deeper he went into the dark world of the mob, it seemed there would be no way out. Gaining recognition across all boundaries as one of the best sharpshooters that ever worked for the mob, he was destined to be used by all who wanted his services, even the CIA. When it would seem there is no hope for salvation, and the man who is dedicated to having no mercy finds that though he gave no mercy, there is still the possibility of a miracle. Love and mercy can reach the darkest soul, and forgiveness can change a man forever. When there is no hope for a man, then that is when the Lord can go to work and prove that only he can take a soul from spiritual death unto a new and glorious life. This story is based on the real life of a person whose name is Gary.

Book excerpt: Although early Zionist thinkers perhaps naively believed that anti-Jewish persecution would end with sovereignty, anti-Zionism has become one form of the “new” antisemitism following World War II. Because antisemitism has not been effectively addressed, anti-Jewish rhetoric, activism, and deadly violence have flourished around the world. In Anti-Judaism, Antisemitism, and Delegitimizing Israel editor Robert S. Wistrich and an array of notable academics, journalists, and political scientists analyze multiple aspects of the current surge in anti-Jewish and anti-Israel rhetoric and violence. Contributors Ben Cohen, R. Amy Elman, Lesley Klaff, Matthias Küntzel, Nelly Las, Alvin H. Rosenfeld, and Efraim Sicher, among others, examine antisemitism from the perspectives of history, academia, gender, identity, and religion. Offering a variety of viewpoints and insights into disturbing trends worldwide, the contributors provide a basis for further discussion and increased efforts to counter the increasingly vocal and violent hatred of Jews and Israel.

Book excerpt: Edric All things get difficult before they get easy. Fourteen years ago, my ex-best friend read those exact words to me. But long past are the days when I couldn’t read, and so are the days when I had Rylan Rhimes in my life. That is… until I sign a contract to take his life. I’m a hitman. He’s a special agent of the FBI. We couldn’t be more opposite than a unicorn is to a dragon. But that doesn’t stop me from taking whatever he’s willing to give. Building trust and a long-lost friendship could come at a cost, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. Because if there were ever one person I couldn’t resist, it would be Rylan Rimes. Rylan He is the last person I thought I’d see standing in my bedroom—of all places—and the sight of him takes my breath away. I broke our friendship with a hard kick out the door, and I’ve regretted it ever since. Years later, he’s back with a gift that has my name printed neatly at the top. Sweet dreams become a reality, but so do the nightmares. As our worlds collide, so do we—in and out of bed. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. The only question is… can I put our differences aside to be with the one person I care about the most?

Book excerpt: The Château du Ciel was once the destination for the rich and famous to play, drink and ski—complete with a private railway to shuttle those desiring extra privacy—now, however, the guests are few and far between. The New Year’s Eve party was supposed to hoist the rundown hotel back to its former status, until a massive blizzard hits, trapping the guests who’ve come to celebrate the grand hotel’s last hurrah. The circumstances might even be romantic, if the hotel wasn't reputed to be haunted. When hotel employee Mave Michael finds the resident artist dead, and shortly thereafter hotel security finds Mave alone with the body, the reputation that Mave has fought long and hard to outrun comes back to haunt her. You see, her father is a notorious hitman who is serving multiple life sentences in prison. She has changed her name and location dozens of times, but he somehow manages to track her down—even sending her a postcard on the eve of her birthday, January 1st. She’s the perfect choice to frame for murder, and now the number one suspect. Mave can no longer deny the lessons in survival her father taught her, and calls on that and her uncanny sixth-sense in “finding” lost objects to navigate the maze of the hotel. To save herself, she not only has to stop running from her own past, she must unearth the history of the hotel, its elite guests and buried secrets—one deadly sin at a time. An homage to classic gothic horror, that proves that the ghosts of family and classism are alive and well.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thomas F. Torrance's theology included a thoroughgoing, albeit implicit, ethic of reconciliation. It focused on the personalizing and humanizing mediation of Christ in all realms of life--including not only a supposed private dimension of human life but also the social, historical, and political structures of human society and even of the cosmos itself. This book builds upon that vision of a Christian ethic radically rooted in God's grace, which encompasses, sustains, and transforms the entire human and created order. A trinitarian-incarnational social ethic does not begin with our human causes, projects, and agendas, however noble they might be, but with witness to the reconciling person and work of Jesus Christ for us.
