Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: International Series of Monographs in Analytical Chemistry, Volume 47: Analytical Chemistry of Molybdenum and Tungsten describes the chemical and instrumental methods of analysis of molybdenum and tungsten. This book is composed of 15 chapters that particularly consider detailed methods for determining these metals in typical samples and their alloys by both classical and modern techniques. The opening chapters discuss the history, occurrence, physico-chemical properties, and applications of molybdenum and tungsten. The succeeding chapters deal with the metals’ sampling, decomposition, separation, and qualitative detection. Considerable chapters are devoted to various chemical and instrumental methods for their analysis, including gravimetry, titrimetry, colorimetry, polarography, amperometry, coulometry, emission and atomic absorption spectroscopy, X-ray spectrophotometry, mass spectrometry, and radiochemical methods. The concluding chapter examines the determination of impurities and alloying elements. This book will prove useful to analytical and inorganic chemists, as well as analytical and inorganic chemistry students.

Download or read book The Chemistry of Chromium, Molybdenum and Tungsten written by Carl L. Rollinson and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Chemistry of Chromium, Molybdenum and Tungsten deals with the chemistry of chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten. The discovery and history, occurrence and distribution, and production of all three elements are discussed, along with their industrial uses, preparation, and allotropes; nuclear, physical, and chemical properties; biological activities; and analytical chemistry. Organized into three sections, this volume begins with an overview of the history, occurrence and distribution, and production of chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten, as well as their industrial uses, preparation, and allotropes; nuclear, physical, and chemical properties; biological activities; and analytical chemistry. The intermetallic phases in binary alloys of all three elements are also considered, along with their oxidation states and respective compounds including compounds with non-metallic elements; compounds of ?-acceptor ligands; organometallic complexes; and peroxy compounds such as peroxychromates, tetraperoxy molybdates, and peroxy tungstates. This book will be of interest to inorganic chemists as well as students and researchers in the field of inorganic chemistry.

Book Synopsis Heteropolyacids as Highly Efficient and Green Catalysts Applied in Organic Transformations by : Majid M. Heravi
Download or read book Heteropolyacids as Highly Efficient and Green Catalysts Applied in Organic Transformations written by Majid M. Heravi and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2022-01-19 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heteropolyacids as Highly Efficient and Green Catalysts Applied in Organic Transformations introduces heteropolyacids (HPAs) as promising candidates for use as green catalysts. This book initially presents an overview of chemistry of HPAs, including the history of their discovery and applications, systematic classifications, solubility, coordination and binding chemistry, isomerization, stability, redox activity, acidic properties, basicity, skeleton structure, structure types, self-assemblage, surface area, electrochemical behavior, methods of investigation, and characterization. Other sections present and compare the applications of HPAs as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. The book provides readers with a basic-to-advanced range of knowledge on how useful and green HPAs can be used for use as catalysts in organic transformations and even the synthesis of complex organic molecules. Focuses on applications of HPAs as catalysts, but also includes basic information on HPAs to make it useful to those researchers and scientists whose activities are focused on biochemical analysis, electrochemistry, electrochemical devices, protection of corrosion, medicine and photo-catalyzed reactions Includes a subdivision devoted to HPA-catalyzed multicomponent reactions for the synthesis of some biologically active compounds via a double-green strategy Illustrates reactions with approximately 100 chemical reaction schemes to aid understanding
Download or read book Tungsten written by Erik Lassner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why does someone write a book about Tungsten? There are several reasons and precedents for this, the most important of which is that the last book on tungsten was written more than 20 years ago, in 1977, by St. W H. Yih and Ch T. Wang. During the intervening period there have been many new scientific and technological developments and innova tions, so it was not only our opinion but the view of many other members of the "tungsten family" that it was time to start writing a new book about tungsten. Preparations of the new book began in 1994. further impetus to the project was provided by the realization that in spite of this new knowledge having been presented at seminars or published in the technical press, a general acknowledgement of it by the majority of technicians and scientists is still far from being realized. It is our hope that this book will significantly contribute to a broader acceptance of recent scientific and technological innovations. An important prerequisite for such a project is the availability of a recently retired, experienced person willing to devote his time and talents to the tedious part of the exercise.
