Book excerpt: When Sheila Myhra receives a mysterious message from her dead mother, all hell breaks loose, especially since the message was written in Navajo twenty-one years before Sheila was born. Because of a recent tragedy, Sheila has vowed to stop using her powers, but when her best friend is kidnapped all bets are off. Using herself as ransom for her friend, Sheila becomes mired in a plot as thick as oil and as old as evil. While trying to solve her mother's message, Sheila is pulled deep into the Arizona desert where the power to end the fuel crisis lies hidden and protected by an ancient spell; a power that has been used by the armies of the Israelites, Nazi Germany, and even al-Qaeda. Hot on Sheila’s tail is a Fort Worth businessman hell-bent-for-leather to use that power for his own profit. When he learns of the true treasure Sheila is hiding, things really heat up. Breaking her vow may not be enough to stop the madman and prevent global disaster. And in the struggle to protect her friends Sheila must make the ultimate decision—who will live and who will die.

Book excerpt: As an ancient Sumerian god, Sin was one of the most powerful among his pantheon. . . Until the night Artemis brutally stole his godhood and left him for dead. For millennia, this ex-god turned Dark-Hunter has dreamed only of regaining his powers and seeking revenge on Artemis. If only life were that simple. Unfortunately he has bigger fish--or in Sin's case--demons, to fry. The lethal gallu that were buried by his pantheon are now stirring and they are hungry for human flesh. Their goal is to destroy mankind and anyone else who gets in their way. Sin is the only one who can stop them—that is if a certain woman doesn't kill him first. Unfortunately, Sin discovers that now he must rely on her or witness an annihilation of biblical proportions. Enemies have always made strange bedfellows, but never more so than when the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Now a man who knows only betrayal must trust the one person most likely to hand him to the demons. Artemis may have stolen his godhood, but this one has stolen his heart. The only question is will she keep it or feed it to the ones who want him dead?

Book Synopsis Your Cry Has Been Heard by : Beth Michael
Download or read book Your Cry Has Been Heard written by Beth Michael and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2009-12 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Your Cry Have Been Heard" has a message the world needs to hear, a message of hope from people who have been lost, experienced deep pain, who have been in the bottom of the pit and have found the way out to let us know that no matter who we are, no one is beyond God's reach. It is a unique book filled with wisdom and love, a book that will impact its readers - and with enough readers, will have a positive impact on society as a whole to make this world a better place for all of us to live in. In the fifty plus years I have walked with God, I have seen times change. The world is no longer a place where even children and youth can feel safe and secure. Abuse increases, crime is in the news daily, horror stories I can't fathom. God's Word predicts this - evil will increase in the end times. Beth Michael I don't get easily touched by writers except for the likes of Ted Dekker. YOUR CRY HAS BEEN HEARD is everything I imagined and much more. With its insight, candor, personal tragedies and triumphs this book will mesmerize the reader and go a long way in redeeming many hearts to the throne of grace. God's signature is clearly with this Ministry; it shall come to pass that this book will be published successfully and our goal to touch as many hearts as possible will succeed beyond our wildest dreams. Lawan Baldwin Your Cry Has Been Heard Would you buy this book Yes, certainly, and would try to get it into our schools, libraries, and colleges. This book will touch your heart and open your eyes! Book excerpt: In 1735, Samuel and Deborah Leeds unleashed a horrific abomination upon the world of men. For nearly two hundred years, the legend of the Jersey Devil has haunted the people of Burlington, New Jersey, and the surrounding Pine Barrens. The year is now 1984, and the monster that was released by Samuel Leeds is back. After the horrific deaths of fourteen-year-old Deirdre Cheek and twenty-year-old Harvey Kramer in this quiet, close-knit town, Raef Lorenz, a former priest turned investigator into the supernatural for the Church of Rome, is sent to Burlington to investigate the killings and the reappearance of the Jersey Devil. As the killings and carnage continue, Lorenz uncovers a sinister plot by the demonic offspring of Samuel and Deborah Leeds. With the help of Kerri Wright, the daughter of local sheriff Andy Wright, Lorenz eludes a group of devil-worshipping bikers and fights against satanic assassins on his way to discovering the truth behind the most recent appearance of the creature. Armed only with knowledge, Lorenz becomes caught in the middle of a struggle between heaven and hell with the fate of mankind resting on his shoulders.
Download or read book Spite the Devil written by Janice Magner and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2007-12 with total page 736 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spite the Devil begins with a legend of Dutch settlers sailing up the Hudson River near New Jersey in the 1600's. One brave man beholds the opposite New York shore and dives into the icy waters shouting he will make it to that "other side" in spite of the devil. When he reaches New York he names the land "Spuyten Duyvil" which means spite the devil. This is where our heroine Janice Rashco gets her roots. Janice grows up in the 1950's with a strong Irish Catholic faith and relentless encounters with the devil. She receives her education from a small community of Dominican nuns. When the family overgrows their tiny New York apartment they move to Connecticut where Janice finds some disturbing changes taking place in her religion. She begins a quest to find the truth. In the interim of her searching she meets and instantly falls in love with Jack Watkins. They enjoy many blissful years of love. Suddenly this changes with a death in Jack's family. Jack becomes unfaithful. But Janice's love for him never fails. After many episodes of his cheating the two young lovers part ways. Jack moves to California and Janice is drawn to the South of France where she enters a Dominican convent. She is taught a great life's lesson there. But because she is discouraged by what she sees in France she returns to the States continuing her investigation of the Catholic Church and soon meets and marries Matt O'Malley. All the while she never lets go of her unfailing and everlasting love for Jack. Spite the Devil is a heartwarming tale of good versus evil while steeped in history and everlasting love. The journey teaches the fundamental concepts of love and rationalizes suffering conveying this experience as beneficial not only for ourselves, but for others as well, to gain entrance into heaven or reach the "other side" in spite of the devil.

This book was released on with total page 868 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 58 Sermons 3283-3334 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

This book was released on 1987 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Italian master of the cuaderna vía is Bonvesin da la Riva (second half of the XIII cent.), a Milanese teacher deeply involved in the religious revival and the social changes of his time. Author also of Latin works (the prose of his De Magnalibus Mediolani and the distichs of his Vita Scholastica have already won the attention of Medievalists), he is especially noteworthy for his Volgari (poems in Old Milanese), whose monorhymed quatrains cover a thematic range of unusual breadth. A description of Hell and Paradise, the impassioned evocation of Christ's suffering and death, a glorious Mariale where amazing «miracles» are narrated (conversion of Maria Egyptiaca included), a life of St. Alexis, dramatic Debates of religious and socio-political content, and, finally, a mini Book of Manners constitute the rich repertoire of this production.
