This book was released on 1976 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hadron-nucleus collisions are discussed. It is assumed that the hadron energy is greater than or equal to 200 GeV and that large nuclei like lead or uranium constitute the nuclear targets. It is argued that a relatively large amount of blackness in hadron-nucleus cross sections puts strong constraints on the inclusive spectrum. Reasons are given why the spectrum of fast particles in a hadron-nucleus collision must be very different than such a spectrum in a hadron-hadron collision. A possible reconciliation of an approximate Glauber expansion with the Regge pole expansion in a soft field theory is suggested.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses the physical phases of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in ordinary environments and also in extreme environments of high temperatures and high baryon number. It introduces lattice gauge theory, covering fundamentals and important developments, and emphasises the application of QCD to the study of matter in extreme environments.

Download or read book Baryon Stopping in 200 GeV written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Measurements of rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of negative hadrons and of ''protons'' obtained by subtracking negative hadron distributions from positive hadron distributions are presented for 200 GeV/A S+Au collisions. The distributions are shown as a function of event centrality and are indicative of a system exhibiting a large degree of nuclear stopping.
Book Synopsis Di-hadron Correlations with Identified Leading Hadrons in 200 GeV Au + Au and D + Au Collisions at STAR. by :
Download or read book Di-hadron Correlations with Identified Leading Hadrons in 200 GeV Au + Au and D + Au Collisions at STAR. written by and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The STAR Collaboration presents for the first time two-dimensional di-hadron correlations with identified leading hadrons in 200 GeV central Au + Au and minimum-bias d + Au collisions to explore hadronization mechanisms in the quark gluon plasma. The enhancement of the jet-like yield for leading pions in Au + Au data with respect to the d + Au reference and the absence of such an enhancement for leading non-pions (protons and kaons) are discussed within the context of a quark recombination scenario. The correlated yield at large angles, specifically in the ridge region, is found to be significantly higher for leading non-pions than pions. As a result, the consistencies of the constituent quark scaling, azimuthal harmonic model and a mini-jet modification model description of the data are tested, providing further constraints on hadronization.
Book Synopsis A Study of the Average Multiplicity and Multiplicity Distributions in Hadron-Nucleus Collisions at High Energies by :
Download or read book A Study of the Average Multiplicity and Multiplicity Distributions in Hadron-Nucleus Collisions at High Energies written by and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a simple counter experiment requiring about 40 hours of data taking time we propose to study the detailed shape of the multiplicity distribution for larger values of n and the average charged particle multiplicity in hadron-nucleus collisions at 100 and 200 Gev. The results of the experiment should be a valuable input for ccmparison with theoretical models, in particular they should provide a sensitive test ot whether multipartlcle production in hadron-nucleon collisions proceeds through a one or two step process.
Book Synopsis Advances In Nuclear Dynamics - Proceedings Of The 10th Winter Workshop On Nuclear Dynamics by : Wolfgang W Bauer
Download or read book Advances In Nuclear Dynamics - Proceedings Of The 10th Winter Workshop On Nuclear Dynamics written by Wolfgang W Bauer and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1994-07-26 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of nuclear dynamics has evolved tremendously over the course of the 15 years of this workshop series. The workshop presently spans a very broad range of research interests. These include the development of concepts that will form the foundation of research for the quark-gluon plasma as well as current studies of very hot and dense baryonic matter through the measurement of pions, strange particles, dileptons, baryons and antimatter. The investigation of the decay of extremely hot nuclear systems blossomed with the dramatic observation of multifragmentation of heavy systems and detailed studies of the temporal and spatial extent of the system emitting fragments at a wide range of excitation energies. This also includes a continuing search for the liquid-gas phase transition in nuclear matter. An entirely new field of inquiry has begun with the advent of reaction studies with radioactive beams. This international workshop, attended by theorists and experimentalists from 20 institutions and 6 countries, continues to provide the opportunity for cross-fertilization between researchers involved in the broad range of research in nuclear dynamics as well as stimulating the interaction between experimentalists and theorists. The present status of research in the vigorous field of nuclear dynamics is reviewed.
Book Synopsis High PT Hadrons in Au+Au Collisions at RHIC. by :
Download or read book High PT Hadrons in Au+Au Collisions at RHIC. written by and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High pT hadrons produced in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC probe nuclear matter at extreme conditions of high energy density. Experimental measurements in Au+Au collisions at sqrt sNN=130, 200 GeV establish the existence of strong medium effects on hadron production well into the perturbative regime.
