Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fully convinced in my own mind that the doctrine of repentance is the missing note in many otherwise orthodox and fundamentally sound circles today, I have penned this volume out of a full heart. I hope and pray that God will be pleased to use it to awaken many of His servants to the importance of seeking so to present His truth as to bring men to the only place where He can meet them in blessing. That place is the recognition of their own demerit and absolute unworthiness of His least mercies and a new conception of His saving power for all who come to Christ as lost sinners, resting alone upon His redemptive work for salvation, and depending upon the indwelling Holy Spirit to make them victorious over sin's power in daily life.

Book Synopsis Wrongly Dividing The Word of Truth by : H.A. Ironside
Download or read book Wrongly Dividing The Word of Truth written by H.A. Ironside and published by Solid Christian Books. This book was released on 2014-04-05 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PAUL'S exhortation to the younger preacher, Timothy, has come home to many with great power in recent years. As a result, there has been a return to more ancient methods of Bible study, which had been largely neglected during the centuries of the Church's drift from apostolic testimony. Augustine's words have had a re-affirmation: "Distinguish the ages, and the Scriptures are plain." And so there has been great emphasis put in many quarters, and rightly so, upon the study of what is commonly known as "dispensational" truth.

Book Synopsis Lectures on the Book of Revelation by : H. Ironside
Download or read book Lectures on the Book of Revelation written by H. Ironside and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-04-28 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: IT is certainly cause for deep regret that to so many Christians the Book of Revelation seems to be what God never intended it should be-a sealed book. The book of Daniel was to be sealed till the time of the end (Dan. 12:9), but of Revelation it is written: "Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand" (Chap. 22:10). It is clearly evident that this portion of Holy Scripture was given for our instruction and edification, but thousands of the Lord's people permit themselves to be robbed of blessing by ignoring it. Significantly enough, it is the one book of the Bible which begins and ends with a blessing pronounced on those who read and keep what is written therein (Chap. 1:3; 22:7). Surely God did not mean to mock us by promising a blessing on all who keep what they cannot hope to understand! It is only unbelief that would so reason. Faith delights to appropriate every part of the sacred record, and finds that "they are all clear to him that understandeth." The true title is given us in the opening verse. It is, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ;" not "The Revelation of St. John the Divine." There is no MS. authority for this latter designation, and it shows all too plainly how far some early editor had slipped away from first principles. John was a saint as all believers are saints. He was not a divine! Such a title would have amazed him beyond measure. Nor is the book the revelation of John or of any other servant of God. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ Himself. The word rendered "revelation," and sometimes "apocalypse," means literally an unveiling, or manifestation. So this book is the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is its one great theme. It presents Him as the Son of Man in the midst of the churches during the present dispensation; and as the Judge and the King in the dispensations to come. If you would learn to appreciate Christ more, read this book, frequently and prayerfully. It reveals Him as the Lamb rejected, soon to reign in glory-the Lamb on the throne!
Book Synopsis Notes on the Book of Proverbs by : H. Ironside
Download or read book Notes on the Book of Proverbs written by H. Ironside and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-03-17 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TO the general reader, the book of Proverbs, with its common-sense epigrams and sententious aphorisms, might seem to be the last portion of Scripture requiring any attempt at elucidation. But it is just because its chapters abound in pithy truisms that the marrow is often lost sight of by those who have been accustomed to hearing or reading them all their lives. The present work is an attempt to press home upon the heart and conscience, with a view to the increase of every-day godliness, this distinctively practical portion of the word of God. The "Authorized" Version is used in the text, save where a uniform rendering of certain words seemed conducive to clearness, and where some other translation better expressed the thought of the original. Wherever changes have been made, the reader may rest assured competent authorities have been consulted, the marginal readings of the Englishman's Hebrew Bible being generally preferred. The poetical arrangement has been used, as more capable of clearly manifesting the contrasts, as well as the parallelisms, so abundant in this great storehouse of practical instruction. Throughout, an effort has been made to bring to the reader's attention some Scriptural examples of the proverbial statements. This feature of the work will, it is sincerely hoped, be a means of stimulating the reader to more careful, earnest Bible study. H. A. IRONSIDE. August 1, 1907.

This book was released on 2014-04-18 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The truth of God is learned through the conscience; this is why the most brilliant men can read the Bible through over and over and never hear the voice of God in it at all. It has been said that “what is one man's meat is another man's poison.” The very Word of God may become poison to an unspiritual man if he reads it without being in subjection to God-reads it to find difficulties-and arises from its perusal more confirmed in his unbelief than he was when he sat down to consider it. The results are different when the same book is put into the hands of a spiritually-minded person-one who has bowed in God's presence, acknowledged his lost condition, trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, and who is now seeking to live in obedience to God and His Word. That man sits down to the same book and finds it to be food for his soul, building him up in his faith.
Book Synopsis The Mysteries of God by : H. Ironside
Download or read book The Mysteries of God written by H. Ironside and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-02-12 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: KNOWING of nothing that aims to present in one volume, the various mysteries of the New Testament, it has been a happy service to pen these papers, hoping thereby to minister to the profit of some who, while of the household of faith, may have given little or no attention to truths of such vast importance. The teaching set forth is not original with the writer. He is indebted to many, both through oral and written ministry, for most of the instruction he now seeks to impart to others. May it be yours, reader, to test all by the word of the living God, and thus find true profit.

Sample Book Insights: #1 Columbus brought pigs from Cuba to Florida, which may have been descendants of the pigs Queen Isabella had enjoined Columbus to take with him on his second voyage. #2 In 1565, the Spanish attacked Fort Caroline, France’s first settlement in the Americas, near present-day Jacksonville. They easily overwhelmed the small fort, killing 132 soldiers and civilians. The forty or so French survivors were forced to watch as Spanish soldiers flicked the eyeballs of the French dead with the points of their daggers. #3 The ill-fated inhabitants of Fort Caroline were not Lutherans at all, but Huguenots, French Protestants who followed the teachings of John Calvin. They had built and settled Fort Caroline more than a year earlier. #4 The French colony in Florida was eventually captured by the Spanish in 1565. The remaining French survivors were brought to the same inlet, where they were executed.
