Long ago, Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say that I am?” It's a question everyone must answer, and we need Scripture to tell us how. The Deity of Christ is a biblical defense of Jesus’ divinity—the cornerstone of Christian doctrine. From over a dozen New Testament texts, pastor and theologian John MacArthur explores how Jesus is God, and why it matters. This study will deepen your knowledge of Christ, and thus your love for Him, fortifying your will and increasing your worship. No man in history is more perplexing or compelling than Jesus Christ—because no other man is also God. Let this book from bestselling author John MacArthur guide you deep into the profound truths of Christ.

This book was released on 2013-07-24 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a compilation of Newcomen’s most rare sermons. The sermons reflect a life dedicated to experiencing and understanding the bible, spiritual truth, and experimental Christianity. His preaching is eminently biblical, energetic and powerful. They clearly display the peculiar ability Newcomen had to capture the attention of a church congregation in order to teach them the great truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His first sermon covers, “The All-Seeing Unseen Eye Of God” which is a fantastic exhortation to holiness taken from Hebrews 4:13, “But all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him, with whom we have to do.” God knows every person who ever was or will be, all their works, all their speeches, and all their thoughts, and such things are always present in the mind of God. This should prompt us to fear and revere God. This sermon alone is worth the cost of the volume. It is best exhortation on this subject matter in print. “The Craft and Cruelty of the Church’s Adversaries” is a powerful polemic against Roman Catholicism, Arminianism and Libertinism which deters Christians to the true faith found in Jesus Christ alone. He explains Nehemiah 4:11, “And our adversaries said, They shall not know nor see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.” He shows how the church is at war with the wicked designs of men who would tear down the work of Jesus Christ. Also included is “Jerusalem’s Watchman,” “Walking Worthy of the Gospel,” and a funeral sermon on Acts 13:36. This work is not a scan or facsimile and has been made easy to read with an active table of contents for electronic versions.

Book excerpt: Central to God’s character is the quality of holiness. Yet, even so, most people are hard-pressed to define what God’s holiness precisely is. Many preachers today avoid the topic altogether because people today don’t quite know what to do with words like “awe” or “fear.” R. C. Sproul, in this classic work, puts the holiness of God in its proper and central place in the Christian life. He paints an awe-inspiring vision of God that encourages Christian to become holy just as God is holy. Once you encounter the holiness of God, your life will never be the same.

Book excerpt: The book consists primarily of interviews between Strobel (a former legal editor at the Chicago Tribune) and biblical scholars such as Bruce Metzger. Each interview is based on a simple question, concerning historical evidence (for example, "Can the Biographies of Jesus Be Trusted?"), scientific evidence, ("Does Archaeology Confirm or Contradict Jesus' Biographies?"), and "psychiatric evidence" ("Was Jesus Crazy When He Claimed to Be the Son of God?"). Together, these interviews compose a case brief defending Jesus' divinity, and urging readers to reach a verdict of their own.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Deity of Christ: A Sermon Delivered July 31, 1810, Before the Haverhill Association, and Published at Their Request The subject which this passage brings to view, is most interesting. In the great business of religion, we have much, very much to do with Jesus Christ. We shall all soon appear before him, as our final Judge. To have some just knowledge of him, then, must be of infinite mo ment. If Christ be a creature, those who treat him as God, are chargeable with idolatry. This all allow. If he be God, are those who degrade him to the level ofa mere creature, in no danger of impiety - Let us, my brethren, feel the solemnity of the subject. Let us contemplate it with profoundest seriousness and humility. And may the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father ofglory, give as the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, in the knowledge of him self, and of his dear Son! Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up the son of agnostics, John Koessler saw a Catholic church on one end of the street and a Baptist on the other. In the no-man’s land between the two, this curious outside wondered about the God they worshipped—and began a lifelong search to comprehend the grace and mystery of God. A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith
