About the Author and Other Contributors Daniela Landsberg Daniela Landsberg, born on February 29, 1980 in Mainz, studied biology, German and psychology. Her first short story came while she was studying to become a teacher when she wanted to show her lecturer that Christmas doesn't always mean "perfect world" and "big family." When she was writing the short story, she found that she enjoyed writing it and decided to continue writing. When she's not writing, she likes to spend time with her cats, try to learn the piano, and get her chocolate addiction under control. As a former tournament dancer, you don't see her addiction. Daniela is an absolute night person, and as a person with Asperger's syndrome, she enjoys the peace and quiet when all other living beings are sleeping. Dr. Rolf Peter Hampel-Landsberg, MD Dr. Rolf Peter Hampel-Landsberg, MD, born on May 1, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main, is a specialist in cardiac and thoracic surgery. He never thought that he would illustrate a children's book. After his wife's manuscript had been ready for years and no one was found for the illustrations, she convinced him to just start drawing. What he initially thought was just a funny idea quickly became a reality. He noticed that he enjoyed drawing and painting and that it even balanced out his hectic professional life. From their start to finish, all ten drawings for the children's book were created within a very short time. After tons of drawing and painting utensils were purchased and the joy of painting developed, he and his wife decided that he would continue to illustrate his wife's books for children. In addition to this newly gained hobby, his other hobbies alongside his wife include motorcycling, dancing, playing the piano, playing board games, and watching soccer and Formula 1.

Mom and Aunt Fran would stay back and either clean the fish which we caught (a dirty job nobody wanted) or just watch us having fun. Mom always liked being outdoors near the water. Along with boating and fishing, we loved looking at the barnacles that attached to the walls around the bay area and around the posts holding up the dock. Mom seemed to be the one most fascinated with these small and disfigured little creatures. She and the rest of us seemed to enjoy watching these creatures just to pass the time of day.
