Download or read book Different By Design written by H. Dale Burke and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2003-03-01 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are Men from Mars and Women from Venus? No. The earth is in fact the home base for both sexes. So why are we so different? Because God created us that way. Men and women were created with radically different ways of thinking, feeling, and perceiving. But when we check the Bible, we see that God never intended these differences to create the incredible friction they do in today. The good news is that God has already woven into His Word the perfect solution to this friction. Pastor, author, and conference speaker H. Dale Burke's book, Different By Design, is aimed at exposing the myth that men and women are too different to live in harmony. He contends that God's master plan includes harmony between men and women in marriage. When the inevitable struggles come into a relationship, Burke states that we need heavenly, down-to-earth biblical guidance for building healthy relationships. We all want to build stronger relationships, whether we're single, dating, married or passing along advice to grandkids. Different By Design provides an excellent framework within which to achieve that goal. Our differences do not surprise God. He wired us. He understands. He loves us. And He provides us with a map to navigate these tricky waters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believers know that when we die we enter heaven and will spend eternity there with God and the saints who have gone before us. But what actually happens in heaven? What are we going to be doing there? Won't it get boring at some point? According to Scripture, a large part of our experience of heaven will be a continual revealing of God's glory. Not just his glory in the moment, but during all of time. The mysteries of providence, the hidden movements of God throughout history, and the forgotten and unnoted works of even the most obscure of God's people will be unveiled so that we can see how wise, loving, gracious, and powerful our God is. And though we will experience perfection in heaven, we will never be omniscient, which means we will always be learning more about God's glory, inspiring us to return joyful praise and thanksgiving. If your vision of heaven has been limited to clouds and harps and angels, it's time to expand that view with the truth found in this biblically based look at the afterlife.
Book Synopsis God's Master Plan for Humanity by : Alpha
Download or read book God's Master Plan for Humanity written by Alpha and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2011-08 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's Master Plan for Humanity presents a collection of one woman's thoughts on being a born-again Christian for over forty years. Her life started simply; she was the fifth child of eight children born to country folks. She was raised in the beauty of nature and then married at the age of sixteen. While she admits that neither she nor her husband was prepared for marriage, it was during this time that she was born again and felt called to marriage. When author Alpha was nineteen, she and her sister rescued their brother from a suicide attempt through a miracle that she could only accept as God's divine intervention. With Christ as her personal savior, Alpha experienced the many benefits of knowing what the word of God can do if it is applied to everyday life. She likens the word of God-the Bible-to a recipe, because following His directions will make a person's life just like the "picture on the box." Many people don't take the time to read the Bible, so Alpha has recounted, through the stories included in God's Master Plan for Humanity, the vital lessons of God's love. The most important actions a person can take in life are accepting and understanding God's plan.

Sam Allberry, author of many books including Is God Anti-gay sets out God's good design for the expression of human sexuality, showing that God himself is love and that only he can satisfy our deepest desires. It is a great reminder of the Bible's positive blueprint for love, sex and marriage and ideal for giving away to people who may see this as a stumbling block for belief.

Book Synopsis God's Strategy in Human History by : Paul Marston
Download or read book God's Strategy in Human History written by Paul Marston and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2001-07-01 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Forster and Marston have delivered a stellar book that attempts to present an exegetical and Scriptural framework for the content presented in the book. Instead of beginning from a set of deductive theological assumptions and then attempting to support that system from Scripture, Forster and Marston examine Scripture and attempt to build their case directly from the text. The authors unabashedly admit that their views are very similar to those of Arminian and Weslyan traditions, but they state in the beginning of the book that they do not want to be labeled with these names, but want to construct a theology that is in line with the teachings of the first 300 years of Christianity. Anyone who reads their appendix will come to understand that the teachings presented in this book were the orthodox consensus of the early Church for the first 300 years, and that it was Augustine who introduced serious deviations into the mainstream orthodox Christianity of his time. Forster and Marston begin by describing the battle that is being waged between God and the spiritual forces that oppose Him. They examine the book of Job and see how this relates to the overall struggle. Then the authors examine the 9th chapter of Romans to see if this book is dealing with election and individual destinies, or God's actions within human history. The authors do an excellent job of arguing for their opinion that this chapter is speaking about God's involvement in human history and it deals with God's choosing of one nation or individual over another nation or individual to accomplish His purpose. Other sections of interest in this book are the sections on foreknowledge and predestination and the chapters on faith and works. The section on faith and works was particularly interesting because it relies on much of the teaching of the new perspective which has shed much light on how a 1st century Palestinian Jew would have approached Scriptural issues. The research, argumenation, and exegesis in this book are solid so every chapter is excellent, but the ones mentioned above were two of my favorites."--Amazon.com.
