I am not sure just when I made the decision to write books which basically called organized religion to task in failing to recognize the importance of the unexplainable happenings in world literature. I had read Raymond Moody's bestseller Life After Life many years before, and had been captivated by the revelation of near-death excursions. Eventually, the notion took hold that God is giving us these experiences to strengthen our religious commitment, and with this realization came the decision to write about it. Your Soul Is Eternal was purposely written to be independent of the Bible, so that it would be clear that God intended this information as an autonomous source.
