Ruffin provides a thought-provoking view of how we should see ourselves by establishing that we are more than enough through our Heavenly Father. God is I AM; therefore, as his children, we have the right to this name, to proclaim all God says we are in him. I am a child of God. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am predestined. I Am Who God Says I Am is the first of three books in the Taking on the Family Name series, designed to motivate, encourage, and uplift you from feeling worthless to having God's value in your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about seeing the real world and people from another perspective, and not the imaginary world of how people and the world ought to be. Real street players and men of business don't see the real world with a mindset of hopes and dreams, nor with mediocre views. They see the world as it is, and how people truly are. Real players and business men see people based on their desires, wants and emotional experiences. Some of those experiences whether past or present has forced people to become rigid and selfish for survival, protection, getting money, secret relationships, emotionally with-drawn due to their emotional and psychological pain from past experiences, and dealing with those trust issues to conceal and never reveal themselves and always have the upper hand in any situation. This book is based on reality and not theories.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your God is too small—way too small! What if God is not a human-like personal being but the God Beyond God of the Christian mystical traditions? What if God is the ultimate reality beyond all beings, including beyond all divine beings, indeed beyond all Being? It’s a mind-bending idea. Speaking of God as a human-like personal being is much easier but people who care about the deepest mystical understandings of God within our traditions need to make the effort to speak about the God Beyond God, despite the difficulties. This book makes the attempt to speak of the God Beyond God in the language of the sermon, using metaphor and potent imagery tuned to the existential intensities of human life. The God Beyond God is closer to us than our jugular veins, vividly present in every moment of our lives. These sermons are practical and moving, and they also resonate with the most rigorous theological understandings of ultimate reality. Their deconstruction of our convenient fantasies about a divine being make these sermons emotionally intense and perhaps not suitable for beginners in the journey of faith. But veteran believers can breathe deeply in the air of these meditations, relaxing into the bliss of engaging ultimate reality without delusions, without deflections, and without controlling the object of our worship.

A child born into a world governed by unjust caretakers, power driven authority and a bloodline cursed, her only way out of this life was through what she thought would be her death, but this God that she had not known had other plans in mind. This intriguing and suspenseful read will follow the road less traveled that lead Sasha into the darkest hells of her life. Sasha's life would be taken by God himself only to get her to a place that she would have never dreamed of.Sasha was dying and the only thing that would save her life would be for her to depend on an entity in which she didn't believe existed. She would have to fight, forgive and deny her will in order to end up on the other side of a place in where she hadn't known. Did people still hear God's voice? Was Sasha losing her mind? Sasha would soon find out that losing what she called her life would be the only way to gain a perspective on what dying was really like.Sasha would be faced with the demons of her family's past and present in order to save the future of what yet didn't exist. Witness her journey in the battle of her flesh and see who would come out victorious. Was the bible real? Did God exist beyond what the world had taught her about him? God had called her, but would she answer? Sasha was given a way out by a god in who she didn't know. She would have to face hell in order to make it to heaven. Let's read and see if dying could actually save a person's life.

Book excerpt: Salvation is the real business of life and is the central message of the Bible, ?Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved.? GOD says that everything that this world may offer is not worth the value of even one soul to Him.GOD has personally entered into His creation of humanity in the person of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who was born into the human family by the process of a unique birth, the virgin birth being the only one of its kind and without equal or equivalent.GOD moves through the human element involving human history to get His will, purpose, and prophecy done, and the nation of Israel and the Church are His two elect groups on earth. Mankind has an ordained future and rest in the hand of the Creator GOD, and that future is with Him forever and eternally.

Book excerpt: In God Is No Laughing Matter, bestselling author Julia Cameron takes a witty, powerfully honest, and irreverent look at the culture of "spirituality" today and offers insight to enable readers to determine their personal spiritual path. The important thing to remember, she says, is that God is both more humorous and more humane than we've been taught. With her trademark "sparkling prose" (Publishers Weekly), anecdotes, and helpful techniques, Cameron's thought-provoking essays paint the spiritual journey in a refreshingly clear light. Addressing the way in which spiritual "experts" have clouded the message, her book shows readers how to improve concentration and how to make conscious choices that heighten their individual autonomy as well as enrich their lives and their communities.

Book excerpt: “Continues where Brown’s first memoir, The Los Angeles Diaries, left off. It’s molten stuff, the story of his efforts to control his river of rage.” —Los Angeles Times Award–winning author James Brown gained a cult following after chronicling his turbulent childhood and spiraling drug addiction in The Los Angeles Diaries. This River picks up where Brown left off in his first memoir, describing his tenuous relationship with sobriety, telling of agonizing relapses, and tracking his attempts to become a better father. This is the heartbreaking and at times uplifting tale of Brown’s battles, peeking into his former life as an addict and detailing his subsequent ascent to sobriety and fight for redemption. “A beautifully crafted and intensely moving book. Without artifice or pretension—without false moves of any sort—James Brown goes after the biggest literary game: death, love, children, degeneration, hopelessness, hope. I read this book straight through, in one spellbound sitting, and I will read it again in a week or two. It is so good.” —Tim O’Brien, National Book Award winning–author of The Things They Carried “Beautifully written, this is clear–eyed truth–telling by a man coming to terms with the best and worst in himself and others.” —Booklist “This River pulls no punches—art shouldn’t and Brown doesn’t. The good, the bad, the ugly are all there in a lucid, uncluttered, muscular prose studded with honesty, willpower, and courage. Brown’s is a story of a man who, against overwhelming odds, not only came back from the abyss, but triumphed.” —Duff Brenna, author of AWP Best Novel The Book of Mamie

Well, in this book, you will see what my uncle did. He was a major coach. What is a major coach? Well, that is where you coach literally everything: basketball, baseball, track, football, martial arts, swimming, golf, and dancing lessons. He tutored adults and children and worked a regular job. Lazy wasn't a word he knew. What better way than to go out the way you lived your life? I personally thought it was very cool. My uncle's funeral was on the track and football field where over three hundred people attended to celebrate and paid their respects. It made my father feel like he was putting on a gospel celebrity concert that he waited for all his life. Lord Jesus help us. If only Erica from Mary Mary would have just given my father a solo at their church. My beautiful great-aunt had us join a procession at the funeral as if it was a wedding. We sat in white chairs on the football field as if we were holding a presidential election. He was just that special. My uncle's only daughter's wedding colors were purple and white. And she wanted to honor him by the family wearing those colors since he would not be here to walk her down the aisle. My father felt like this was his time to shine. He didn't have to shine that much to make us go viral. We were embarrassed. We had just seen Kobe and his daughter buried the day before. I was grateful for the tribute they gave to all nine lives that were lost. Everyone was watching at the airport. We were delayed due to the fog. After watching the funeral, no one complained about the fog again. I flew all the way from St. Louis. I couldn't miss my uncle's funeral. Who would have thought the world would shut down five weeks later? I say God is trying to tell us all something. With me being six months pregnant, and bleeding for five of those six months, I believed it would be a double funeral. God said, "You both shall live," yet the devil was trying to take me out. I believe in my heart that this book will show you that no matter your skin color, we are the same. Even if your faith is paper thin, this book is for you. Religion shouldn't be anyone's cup of tea. Even in the COVID pandemic, Jesus has never left us nor forsaken us. His blood is why we breathe. Now that's love. That should be our cup of tea. Not religion.
