Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Steeped in beauty and spirituality, Shqiponja Axhami Trota’s poetry collection is a bath in a soothing and softening emollient to purify and regenerate soul and mind. Actually, the purity is the common thread uniting all the poems, the sounds of which can create unique and harmonious melodies, pleasing to the ear and the spirit. More in general, the nature and its flowers appear in many of these poems, infused with symbolism and meaning. They represent love, hope, healing, loss, death; they coexist in a state of greater simplicity with all the most varied sentiments of the collection, as the human passions had the beautiful and changing forms of the nature and its seasons. In each poem the author tersely captures and voices a different kind of feeling from her experiences and she describes events and situations from common life in its perpetual singularity. A continuous alternation of short forms and long poems, macro and micro cosmos that allow the reader to recognize his position within the nature. Shqiponja Axhami Trota was born on April 22 1977. She is from Albania. She finished High School for Literature and has published many books in Albanian Language: Ghost with red dress, The girl and chamomile flowers, My own way, The birds’s path, Sighing near the watering willow. Now she lives in England.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the 2013 Said Ghobash Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation. A Land without Jasmine is a sexy, satirical detective story about the sudden disappearance of a young female student from Yemen's Sanaa University. Each chapter is narrated by a different character, beginning with Jasmine herself. The mystery surrounding her disappearance comes into clearer focus with each self-serving and idiosyncratic account provided by an acquaintance, family member, or detective. The hallucinatory ending, although appropriately foreshadowed, may come as a Sufi surprise for the reader. Less mystically inclined readers may want to reread this tale to construct an alternative ending. This short novel has echoes of both the Sherlock Holmes stories and The Catcher in the Rye as, in addition to the mystery and a murder, the novel contains candid discussions of coming of age in a land of sexual repression. Wajdi al-Ahdal is a satirical author with a fresh and provocative voice and an excellent eye for the telling details of his world.

Book excerpt: God in the Garden - "a collection of poetry written beyond the surface," takes the word "God" and utilizes it as a term to help illustrate mankind's search for purpose and understanding. "God," in this book, is used in reference to people's personal perspectives and pleasures. Hewett passionately uses Greek Mythology and biblical language to draw the connection between mankind's yearning for leadership and direction. Through romantic lyricism, "God in the Garden," captures the wistful wishes of the people. From the politician, to the priest, the pansexual, and even the prostitute, the letters in this book are made to express the yearnings of the depressed. Those longing to be heard. This book, is NOT ABOUT GOD, but is a book about people. It is a book about society as a whole. A book about life and the reality we all face; that each of us are all puppets, yet only a small few can actually see the strings.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Description Darkened Light is an epic tour-de-force of a book, an awakening for people who do not understand the mind of a manic depressive. In this book Susan explains the past hardships of her life. She has lived a true rollercoaster of a life with both periods of manic euphoria and periods of suicidal depression. Susan's language reflects her state of mind, illustrated with dozens of her own drawings and paintings; she describes in the minutest of details the thoughts that whirl around her head. Susan is obviously a very strong and brave woman - this is a strong and brave book. About the Author The pictures I have drawn for my book show my thoughts, feelings, emotions and sentiments. I describe myself as a dark, mysterious, secretive person. I have had thoughts that I might have been a Viking in a past life, I have tough, violent traits. Three psychiatrists have diagnosed me as suffering from bipolar depression. During my manic phases I overestimate my personal ability. I become deceitful; see a side to me that is manipulative and crafty. At these times I do not have a conscience. I want to be bad. At other times I am overtaken by a great euphoria. I become obsessed about something; I have delusions about whatever I'm obsessive about. Thoughts and ideas preoccupy my mind and I lose touch with reality. I seem to paint more when I am manic, many of my pictures are similar or on a similar theme. My good mood does not last very long. After a period of elation my mood goes downhill. I sleep more and comfort eat. I feel the need to be alone and I become withdrawn and isolate myself. I have suicidal thoughts. I never understand why I feel depressed. I'm mentally and emotionally strong enough to be able to withstand anything life throws at me. After every thing I have been through I've never had a breakdown because I'm tough and have the inner strength to survive. Social workers have decided what my needs are, they have labelled me as somebody who suffers from anxiety and needs help to learn how to interact with people. I have remained undamaged and unaffected by hardship, hard times and trauma.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. In the public square and popular opinion, we are losing our voice right when it’s needed most for Christ’s glory and the common good. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Join them in exploring profound stories of Christians who are quietly changing the world in the name of Jesus—from the wild world of digital media to the stories of ancient saints and unsung contemporary activists on the frontiers of justice and mercy. Discover how, in these dark times, the light of Jesus shines even brighter. You haven’t heard the whole story. And that’s good news.
